How to Insulate a Container House
Insulating a container house can be achieved through methods such as selecting high-quality insulation materials, adding thermal insulation air layers, improving insulation layer construction, ensuring airtightness, adopting other insulation methods, standardizing construction steps and precautions, and performing proper maintenance and upkeep.

Select High-Quality Insulation Materials
For exterior wall insulation, materials such as EPS (expanded polystyrene) boards, rock wool boards, or polyurethane boards can be chosen. The insulation layer of the wall panels can be up to 200mm thick, effectively blocking heat transfer. For interior wall insulation, closed-cell insulation methods can be used, employing materials like rock wool or expanded perlite boards. Alternatively, materials such as plaster, adobe walls, or wooden boards can be used for spray-on insulation, creating an internal thermal barrier.Add Thermal Insulation Air Layers
Thermal insulation air layers achieve their effect through air isolation. For example, when using polystyrene boards as the insulation layer, steel grilles can be installed to create a certain distance between the inner and outer layers, forming an air buffer zone that reduces heat transfer through the structure.Improve Insulation Layer Construction
The insulation layer must prevent the formation of cold and thermal bridges and ensure proper joining of insulation materials. Special attention should be paid to insulation treatment at corners and flat surfaces to ensure there are no cracks at the joints between the inner and outer insulation layers, preventing heat loss through gaps.Ensure Airtightness
Cracks and rough edges should be avoided at doors, windows, and ventilation openings of the container house. Emphasis should be placed on the airtightness between doors and door frames, windows and window frames, as well as the joint treatment on the surface of steel plates. Methods such as edge sealing, injection of sealing materials, and adding keel fillers can be used to prevent air infiltration.Other Insulation Methods
Insulation materials can be embedded within the walls and covered with double-layer gypsum boards. Alternatively, a double-layer insulation installation method can be adopted to enhance thermal insulation performance. In cold regions (such as Harbin), underfloor heating can also be installed to assist with insulation, improving indoor temperature stability.Construction Steps and Precautions
Before insulation construction, the surface of the house should be cleaned to ensure it is dust-free. A primer should be sprayed to increase the adhesion and airtightness of the insulation materials. Accurate measurement and cutting of insulation materials should be carried out to ensure they fit perfectly with the house surface. When attaching insulation materials, ensure they are flat and secure to avoid hollow spaces or detachment.Maintenance and Upkeep
Regularly inspect the insulation layer for damage or detachment and repair it promptly to prevent localized heat loss. Maintain good ventilation inside and outside the house to avoid prolonged closure, which can lead to high internal temperatures or humidity accumulation, affecting the performance of insulation materials.
