Container House Has an Odor
The odor in a container house can be removed through methods such as opening windows for ventilation, using activated carbon, placing green plants, cleaning and disinfecting, using air purifiers, placing charcoal packs or saltwater, and using odor-removing cleaners. Details are as follows:

Opening windows for ventilation: Opening windows regularly every day to create air convection is the most direct way to remove odors. Especially for newly installed container houses, ventilation can quickly dilute volatile substances like formaldehyde or the musty smell produced in humid weather. It is recommended to choose the fresh air periods in the morning and evening, ventilate for more than half an hour each time, and at the same time, open closed spaces such as wardrobes and cabinets.
Using activated carbon: The porous structure of activated carbon can effectively capture small-molecule odor substances such as formaldehyde and ammonia. Place charcoal packs in closed spaces such as the corners of the container house, wardrobes, and bathrooms. Place about 500 grams per 10 square meters. Exposing them to the sun for 4 hours every month can restore their adsorption capacity. Be careful to avoid the charcoal packs getting damp, as a humid environment will reduce their pore activity.
Placing green plants: Plants such as pothos and monstera absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, and at the same time, the microorganisms in their roots can decompose some organic pollutants, assisting in air purification. Placing one 20-centimeter-diameter green plant per 5 square meters has a relatively good effect. However, the purification efficiency of plants is limited, so they need to be used in combination with other methods, and dead branches should be cleaned regularly to prevent mildew.
Cleaning and disinfecting: For areas where mold grows, use chlorine-based disinfectants for treatment. Fabrics such as carpets and curtains should be washed regularly with hot water above 60°C. Pet excrement residues should be decomposed with bio-enzyme cleaners to break down the proteins in urine stains. Thoroughly clean the corners of the room at least once a week and keep the indoor humidity between 40% and 60% to inhibit mold growth.
Using air purifiers: Choose air purifiers equipped with HEPA filters and photocatalyst technology, which can filter particulate matter such as PM2.5 and decompose gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde. Select products with a CADR value that matches the room area and replace the filters regularly.
Placing charcoal packs or saltwater: Place charcoal packs in the corners of the container house or prepare a large bucket of water, dilute it with salt, and place it to absorb odors such as paint smells.
Using odor-removing cleaners: Purchase special odor-removing cleaners and wipe the walls and floors with a cloth. Continuous use for several days can remove odors.
