Container House Graphic Design

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Container house graphic design needs to combine functional requirements, structural characteristics, and aesthetic expression, achieving a balance between creativity and practicality through modular combination, material contrast, and space optimization. The following elaborates from three aspects: design types, technical key points, and case applications.

I. Common Design Types of Container Houses

  1. Office Type
Using standard containers as carriers, independent office units are formed through the splicing of single or multiple containers. For example, 20-foot and 40-foot containers can be transformed into project departments and construction site command centers. Inside, functional areas are divided using light steel keels and color steel plates, and external expansion cabins can be added to increase the usable area by 30%-50%, meeting the needs of long-term on-site office work.
  2. Commercial Type
Commercial spaces are formed through the combination of containers. For instance, Seoul's Common Ground is composed of more than 200 blue containers forming a shopping area, and London's Boxpark Shoreditch uses black containers to build a temporary shopping center, integrating trendy stores, cafes, and other business formats. The modular nature of the containers enables rapid assembly and disassembly as well as relocation.
  3. Public Service Type
High-end temporary buildings are created by combining elements such as glass curtain walls and wood grain finishes. For example, Zurich's Freitag flagship store vertically stacks containers to form a 'skyscraper', using hollow tempered glass and composite rock wool wall panels inside to balance brand display and environmental protection needs.

II. Key Technical Points in Design

  1. Structural Optimization
Hot-dip galvanized square steel frames (such as 100×100mm specifications) are used to replace traditional container steel frames, improving corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity. Wall panels are selected from aluminum-zinc color steel plates composite with polyurethane or glass wool, achieving an ultra-low energy consumption standard with a K-value ≤ 0.28W/㎡·K, adapting to extreme climates.
  2. Space Expansion
Space can be flexibly adjusted through side or end expansion cabins, folding structures (such as folding office houses that can be unfolded within 30 minutes), or modular assembly (such as combinations of light steel keels and color steel plates), meeting diverse needs from single-room homestays to composite functional areas.
  3. Aesthetic Expression
The industrial texture and geometric shapes of containers are utilized, combined with curved roof designs, metal integrated wall panels, or mural decorations (such as industrial-style container coffee spaces). Visual impact is enhanced through material contrasts (steel with glass, wood) and color combinations (such as blue containers representing the ocean).

III. Graphic Design Logic of Typical Cases
Taking Seoul's Common Ground as an example, its design uses blue containers as visual symbols, forming an open commercial block by spreading out horizontally. Inside, humanized layouts such as barrier-free restrooms and open service areas are adopted. At the same time, the modular nature of the containers enables rapid iterative updates, balancing functional efficiency and brand recognition.
