Floor Plan Layout of Container Houses
The floor plan layout of container houses varies according to different needs and scales, with several typical design cases as follows:

30-square-meter Container House This type of house measures 12 meters by 2.5 meters and typically adopts a single-box structure. The floor plan focuses on functional zoning, such as setting up an outdoor pool area. The interior space creates a pastoral luxury style through the combination of stone and wood. Due to limited space, it may only include basic living areas, such as a simple living area, kitchen countertop, and small bathroom. Some designs enhance space utilization through foldable furniture or built-in storage.
120-square-meter Container Villa Residence Composed of four 30-square-meter containers, it adopts a double-story staggered layout. The first floor primarily serves public functions, including a living room, open kitchen, washroom, laundry room, master bedroom with an independent washroom, balcony, and utility room. The second floor focuses on private spaces, featuring guest rooms with walk-in closets and washrooms, a study, a balcony, and a double-height living and dining area. The staggered layout creates two balconies, increasing natural light and dividing functional areas through vertical space.
Small B&B Hotel Comprising four 6-meter-long containers stacked vertically, the ground floor is arranged with sanitary facilities, a technical room, a storage room, and a four-bed guest room to meet basic service needs. The upper floor has four guest rooms sharing a balcony, with small round windows enhancing visual connections to the river and hillside landscapes. This design balances operational efficiency and living experience by centralizing public areas (e.g., the ground floor) and dispersing guest rooms (e.g., the upper floor).
“Sustainable Living Lab” Utilizing six standard container modules (6055mm×2435mm×2790mm), it achieves functional integration through modular design. The entrance container is arranged horizontally, forming a three-sided enclosed courtyard to enhance privacy. The remaining five containers are arranged vertically, housing three bedrooms, a storage room, experimental and display spaces, and kitchen and bathroom areas. The modular layout facilitates future expansion or functional adjustments, making it suitable for scientific research or temporary living scenarios.
44-square-meter Container Building Formed by stacking two containers into a two-story duplex structure, the first floor serves as a public area, including a living room, dining room, bar counter, and bathroom. The second floor has two bedrooms and another bathroom, connected by a spiral staircase. The rooftop balcony serves as an extended space for outdoor activities. The vertical layout divides functions through height differences, with the spiral staircase becoming a visual focal point and enhancing the sense of hierarchy.
