Flat Roof Structure of Container House
The flat roof structure of a container house mainly includes load-bearing structural layer, slope-making layer, leveling layer, vapor barrier layer, thermal insulation (heat insulation) layer, waterproof layer, protective layer, and other parts. Here is a detailed introduction to each structural layer:

Load-bearing structural layer: This is the foundation of the flat roof. It usually adopts a reinforced concrete structure and is responsible for bearing various loads on the roof, including roofing materials, construction loads, maintenance loads during use, and long-term effects from natural elements such as wind, sun, and rain. In container houses, the load-bearing structural layer also needs to be effectively connected to the container frame to ensure overall stability.
Slope-making layer: The drainage slope of a flat roof is relatively small, generally 2% to 5%. Therefore, a slope-making layer is required to form a drainage slope. The slope-making layer can be laid with lightweight materials such as cinder, and its minimum thickness at the thinnest part should be no less than 20mm to ensure smooth drainage and avoid water accumulation.
Leveling layer: The leveling layer is laid on top of the slope-making layer to make the base layer flat and facilitate subsequent construction. It usually uses materials such as cement mortar or fine aggregate concrete to ensure a flat surface without unevenness.
Vapor barrier layer: The main function of the vapor barrier layer is to prevent moisture penetration and avoid the thermal insulation layer from getting damp and reducing its thermal insulation effect. It is usually laid with materials such as waterproof membranes or waterproof coatings.
Thermal insulation (heat insulation) layer: The thermal insulation layer is used to prevent the influence of external temperature changes on the indoor space of the building. In container houses, the thermal insulation layer can be filled with efficient thermal insulation materials such as rock wool and polystyrene boards to reduce heat transfer and improve living comfort.
Waterproof layer: The waterproof layer is a key layer in the flat roof structure and is used to prevent rainwater leakage. It is usually laid with materials such as waterproof membranes or waterproof coatings, and it needs to be firmly bonded to the base layer without empty drums or cracks.
Protective layer: The protective layer is laid on top of the waterproof layer to protect the waterproof layer from external damage. It can be laid with materials such as fine aggregate concrete and cement mortar, or hard materials such as floor tiles and stone slabs can be used as the surface layer.
