How to Prevent Fire in Container Houses
Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026
Fire prevention in container houses requires a comprehensive approach encompassing material selection, construction standards, and daily management.

I. Material Selection: Prioritize Fire-Resistant Building Materials
- Wall and Floor Materials: It is essential to use Class A fire-resistant panels, such as rock wool sandwich panels and glass fiber fire-resistant panels. Rock wool sandwich panels, made from basalt, can withstand temperatures exceeding 1000℃ and have a non-combustibility rating of A1. Glass fiber fire-resistant panels have a fire resistance range of 1000-2000℃, do not burn at 800℃, and have no flames at 1200℃, effectively blocking the spread of fire.
- Electrical Wires and Cables: Use genuine national standard wires and install flame-retardant protective sleeves to prevent fires caused by electrical faults.
- Internal Furniture: Avoid using ordinary wood and instead opt for MAA melamine panels (with a fire resistance rating of A2) or metal furniture to reduce combustion points.
II. Construction Standards: Strictly Control the Assembly and Installation Process
- Isolation of Open Flame Operations: Open flame operations such as electric welding and gas welding should be kept away from core materials. If they must pass through walls, protective sleeves should be installed to prevent direct contact between high temperatures and the panels.
- Heat Source Management: Install range hoods in kitchens and maintain a minimum distance of 50cm between heat sources and walls. If heating stoves are installed, fire safety equipment must be provided, and open flame activities should be kept away from the container.
- Circuit Design: Electrical wires and cables should not pass directly through core materials. Socket and switch boxes should be made of metal-plated zinc and installed openly to prevent short circuits that could cause fires.
- Safety Distance: Maintain a minimum distance of 6 meters between container houses to prevent the spread of fire through exterior walls.
III. Daily Management: Strengthen Fire Awareness and Emergency Measures
- Prohibition of Violations: Strictly prohibit the stacking of flammable and explosive materials, unauthorized electrical wiring, or activities such as barbecuing and setting off fireworks inside containers.
- Fire Safety Equipment: Equip both indoor and outdoor areas with simple fire extinguishing equipment and, if possible, install fire alarms to ensure timely response in the early stages of a fire.
- Regular Maintenance and Inspections: Regularly remove rust, repaint, and renovate steel components to prevent corrosion from reducing structural strength. Check for wire aging and ensure that circuit breakers are functioning properly.
- Emergency Exit Design: Install emergency escape routes in corners or concealed areas and keep doors and windows unobstructed to prevent smoke from blocking escape routes.
