Decoration of Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The decoration of container houses requires comprehensive consideration of space utilization, functional zoning, lighting, insulation, and aesthetics. Here are the specific points:

Space Utilization and Functional Zoning

Container houses have limited space, so it is necessary to expand functional areas through reasonable splicing and combination. For example, splicing or staggered stacking of 2-3 containers can form different functional areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms. If two containers are connected in a design, a flat layout with an integrated living and dining area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom with a bathtub can be created, covering an area of about 100 square meters. For small units (e.g., 15 square meters), it is recommended to use multi-functional furniture such as folding beds, folding tables, and integrated cabinets. During the day, the folding bed can be transformed into a sofa to enhance space flexibility.

Lighting and Insulation Design

For lighting, large floor-to-ceiling windows, roof skylights, and glass partitions can be installed to make the interior bright and transparent, blending with nature. For insulation, internal insulation layers need to be added to the walls and roof. Choosing triple-glazed windows, which have better insulation performance than red brick walls, can achieve warmth in winter and coolness in summer. At the same time, roof eaves or balcony sunshades can provide protection against intense summer sunlight and also enrich the building facade.

Courtyard and External Environment Treatment

The exterior facade can be beautified through methods such as paint spraying, themed spray painting, cladding, or glass curtain walls to get rid of the industrial feel and create a villa-like atmosphere. Container houses can be elevated on pile foundations to form independent foundations, which not only prevent moisture and insects but also facilitate site leveling. If a staggered design is adopted, stacking containers in an upper-lower staggered manner can create richer spatial levels and leave a leisure courtyard or passageway area at the bottom to improve ventilation and lighting.

Interior Decoration and Layout

Interior decoration should focus on simplicity and practicality. Taking an open-plan living room, a refined and simple dining area, and a fully functional kitchen area as examples, the living room can be furnished with a simple double sofa, a carpet, a coffee table, and a smart TV. The kitchen can adopt a linear parallel design, making reasonable use of irregular spaces to embed a built-in refrigerator. The front and back can be set up as a kitchen stove operation area and a sink washing area respectively. A small bar counter can also be designed to double as a storage cabinet.
