Container House Custom Size Drawing

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

Container houses come in a variety of custom sizes, with common standard sizes and customization options as follows:

I. International Standard Container Sizes Internationally used dry cargo containers (DRY CONTAINER) come in three types: 20-foot, 40-foot, and high-cube. The internal dimensions of a 20-foot container are 5898×2352×2390 millimeters, those of a 40-foot container are 12024×2352×2390 millimeters, and those of a 40-foot high-cube container are 12024×2352×2680 millimeters. These containers are designed according to maritime standards, and when being renovated, the issue of limited internal net space needs to be considered. Usually, the usable area is expanded through splicing and combination. For example, three 40-foot containers can be spliced to form a duplex structure measuring 11.8 meters×6.75 meters×2.8 meters, with a usable area of 80 square meters.

II. Domestic Common Custom Sizes In domestic container house production, the mainstream size is 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.9 meters in height. For export models, the width is adjusted to 2.4 meters to meet international transportation standards. These sizes can be flexibly combined through modular design, for example:

  • Basic Unit: 3 meters×6 meters×2.8 meters (single-box area of 18 square meters)
  • Expanded Unit: Form a double-layer structure measuring 5.5 meters×6 meters×3 meters through splicing (area of 33 square meters)
  • Non-standard Customization: The length, width, and height can be adjusted according to needs. Common widths are 2.5 meters, 3 meters, and 4 meters, heights range from 2.6 meters to 2.9 meters, and lengths support segmented customization from 3 meters to 12 meters.

III. Function-Oriented Customization Options According to the usage scenarios, container houses can be customized with special sizes and structures:

  • Residential Scenarios: The bedroom needs to accommodate a 1.8-meter double bed and a wardrobe. It is recommended to use a 40-foot high-cube container or a spliced structure to ensure sufficient ceiling height.
  • Office Scenarios: The conference room module requires a large-span space. Multiple containers can be spliced horizontally, with a maximum span of up to 9 meters.
  • Commercial Scenarios: Glass-curtain-wall container offices achieve a modern design by adjusting the positions of doors and windows and the appearance materials.
  • Temporary Facilities: Standardized 3-meter×6-meter units are used for construction site dormitories, meeting short-term needs through rapid assembly.

IV. Customization Process and Precautions When customizing a container house, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the limitations of production equipment and transportation conditions. For example, the size of factory equipment may affect material cutting, and the production feasibility needs to be confirmed in advance. Non-standard sizes may increase costs and construction periods, and technical details need to be clarified with the supplier. In addition, customization covers partitions, the positions of doors and windows, interior decoration, etc. A detailed requirement list needs to be provided to ensure that the final effect meets expectations.
