Container House Costs Are Low

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The cost of container houses is relatively low, mainly reflected in procurement, transportation, installation, and long-term usage costs. Details are as follows:

Procurement Costs

Container houses, using containers as their base material, save a significant amount of construction time and costs compared to traditional buildings. A decorated container with an interior area of approximately 13 square meters sells for around 12,000 yuan, with a price per square meter of nearly 900 yuan. There are also container mobile homes of different sizes on the market, such as those measuring 3 meters by 3 meters, priced between 3,000 and 8,000 yuan, and those measuring 6 meters by 3 meters, priced between 4,500 and 11,000 yuan. Customized models range in price from 3,500 to 14,000 yuan. However, low-end products may not guarantee thermal insulation performance. For better results, it is necessary to choose products from manufacturers with quality assurance, which are usually about twice the price of low-end products, i.e., between 11,000 and 16,000 yuan.

Transportation Costs

Foldable containers effectively reduce transportation costs due to their portability. Taking the example of transporting from a factory in Suzhou to an emergency rescue site in Wuhu, Anhui (a one-way trip of about 300 kilometers), the foldable container from Suzhou Zhongnan, when folded, has a volume only one-fifth of its expanded state. A single truck can carry 20 sets at once, with a transportation cost of 150 yuan per set. CIMC's foldable container, when folded, has a volume one-fourth of its expanded state, with a single truck carrying 16 sets and a transportation cost of 187.5 yuan per set. If 100 sets are transported at once, Suzhou Zhongnan can save between 3,750 and 5,000 yuan in transportation costs.

Installation Costs

Container houses are easy to install, significantly reducing installation costs. The main frame and walls of Suzhou Zhongnan's container panel houses are prefabricated in the factory, requiring only assembly and fixation on-site. A single 30-square-meter panel house can be installed in just 4 hours, without the need for on-site welding. CIMC's modular products take about 6 hours for on-site installation, while YAZHI Integrated's products take about 7 hours, with both requiring a small amount of on-site welding, increasing on-site construction management costs.

Long-term Usage Costs

In terms of storage costs, Suzhou Zhongnan's foldable containers occupy only 20% of the space in their expanded state in the warehouse, allowing 80 sets to be stored in a standard 100-square-meter warehouse. CIMC's products require 25% of the space, with only 64 sets fitting in a 100-square-meter warehouse, showing a significant difference in long-term storage space costs.
