Container House Cost Analysis

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The cost of container houses is influenced by factors such as material, size, configuration, and region, with prices per square meter generally ranging from several hundred yuan to 4,000 yuan.

I. Basic Cost Components

  1. Container Body Cost: The price of an ordinary second-hand container is approximately 12,000 to 30,000 yuan, translating to 800-1,500 yuan per square meter. If customized or brand-new containers are chosen, the cost will be higher.

  2. Renovation and Decoration Costs: These include waterproofing, thermal insulation treatment, electrical circuit installation, door and window configuration, and interior decoration. These secondary processing costs will significantly increase the total cost, with the overall construction cost potentially rising to 2,000-4,000 yuan/㎡.

II. Regional Differences in Cost Impact

  1. North China Region: As an important industrial cluster area for integrated housing in China, it has an abundant supply and a mature industrial chain. The prices of basic models are relatively low, with simple basic models (one door, three windows, basic electrical circuits) costing 6,000–8,500 yuan per set, and standard 3*6-meter fully decorated models (with floor rubber and complete water and electricity) costing 8,500-12,000 yuan per set.

  2. Horgos, Xinjiang Region: Located on the border, it has long transportation distances and high logistics costs. At the same time, local requirements for insulation, wind resistance, and other configurations are higher, further driving up quotes. Thickened cold-resistant basic models cost 8,500–11,000 yuan per set, and cold-resistant fully decorated models (with double-glazed windows and bottom freeze-proof insulation) cost 11,000–15,000 yuan per set. Under the same appearance specifications, local prices in Horgos are about 15% to 30% higher than those in North China.

III. Other Influencing Factors

  1. Size and Material: The larger the size, the lower the cost per unit area; the higher the material quality, the higher the corresponding cost. For example, a container-style house measuring 3 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height has an area of 9 square meters and costs approximately 7,500 yuan; while one measuring 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height has an area of 18 square meters and costs approximately 11,000 yuan.

  2. Degree of Newness: Old containers are relatively cheaper, but the specific price also depends on their condition.

  3. Customization Requirements: The price of customized container houses needs to be determined based on specific sizes and styles, and is usually higher than that of standard models.
