Container House Construction Guide

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The construction of a container house involves steps such as design planning, material preparation, main structure construction, roof and enclosure installation, and interior decoration and equipment installation. The specific process is as follows:

I. Design Planning
The combination method should be determined based on the purpose, site conditions, and container specifications. For example, a single container can increase functionality through deformation expansion (such as using hydraulic rods to flip the container panels to form a canopy) or telescopic expansion (side panels with hidden pulley modules that double the space when extended). For multiple containers, considerations should be given to splicing, staggered stacking, or enclosed layouts to form zones such as living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms. At the same time, the strength of the load-bearing structure should be calculated to ensure compliance with seismic fortification requirements (such as 8-degree fortification), and a drainage system should be planned to prevent rainwater accumulation.

II. Material and Component Preparation
The main structure commonly uses hot-dip galvanized cold-formed steel or welded weather-resistant steel, which must meet the steel model requirements specified in the "Technical Regulations for Modular Container Houses" (such as Q235B, Q345B). For the enclosure structure, options include fire-resistant polyurethane sandwich panels (with a fire resistance limit of ≥0.5 hours) or rock wool panels (Class A fire resistance), and the floor commonly uses cement fiber boards or steel-wood composite floors. Connectors should use high-strength bolts, and sealing materials should be glass curtain wall special adhesives (with waterproof performance 5-6 times better than ordinary adhesives).

III. Main Structure Construction

  1. Foundation Construction: Containers should be elevated on pile foundations to prevent moisture and pests and facilitate site leveling.
  2. Frame Assembly: Fix the container corners through welding or bolt connections, ensuring that the corner columns are aligned and locked with the corners. For multi-story stacking, a staggered symmetric layout should be adopted to enhance lateral stiffness.
  3. Structural Reinforcement: When large openings weaken the stiffness, diagonal braces should be added between the perforated and non-perforated containers; for cantilevered structures (such as balconies), the cantilever length should be controlled, and perforations should be strictly prohibited.

IV. Roof and Enclosure Installation

  1. Roof System: If an arched roof is designed, an arched frame should first be constructed using steel or aluminum materials, followed by the installation of waterproof panels, with sealant applied to the gaps.
  2. Walls and Doors/Windows: After installing prefabricated wall panels, embed double-glazed windows (triple-glazed windows offer better thermal insulation than brick walls) and specially made color steel plate doors. The sealant around doors and windows should be replaced every 5-7 years to prevent leakage.

V. Interior Decoration and Equipment Installation

  1. Pipeline Embedding: Electrical and water supply/drainage pipelines should be embedded during the factory stage, with only the main pipes needing connection on-site.
  2. Function Optimization: For small units (such as 15㎡), it is recommended to use foldable beds and integrated cabinets to improve space utilization; for long-term residence, internal insulation layers (such as polyurethane foam) should be added to the walls, and air conditioning预留孔 (reserved holes for air conditioning) should be installed.
  3. Decoration Treatment: The exterior can be painted with themed paint or installed with glass curtain walls to摆脱工业感 (get rid of the industrial feel); the interior walls can use calcium silicate boards paired with environmentally friendly paint.
