Leakage at the Connections of Container Houses

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

Leakage at the connections of container houses requires targeted treatment based on specific causes. Common causes and solutions are as follows:

Defects in Waterproofing Process during Production

If leakage is caused by inadequate waterproofing at positions such as roof weld seams, container body splicing seams, and around doors and windows during production, these areas need to be re-treated. Adopt a multi-layer waterproofing process, combined with weather-resistant waterproof adhesives and waterproof membranes to enhance resistance to rainwater scouring and adapt to outdoor exposure to sun and rain. For example, at roof weld seams, first clean off old adhesives and dust, then re-seal with weather-resistant silicone sealants or butyl tapes. Ensure the tapes are flattened and compacted before application, and use a scraper to smooth the adhesive after application, ensuring no air bubbles or breaks.

Fastener Issues

During installation and use, stepping on the roof can cause fasteners to loosen, or aging of fastener waterproof pads can lead to leakage. If fasteners are loose, tighten them moderately with a matching screwdriver, but not too tightly to avoid damaging the panel surface; if the waterproof pad is aged and deformed, replace it with a similar screw with an EPDM rubber washer. Before replacing the screw, apply a ring of sealant around the screw hole, then screw in the new screw, with a small amount of sealant extruding being appropriate.

Unqualified Waterproof Materials or Unreasonable Treatment

If leakage occurs due to aging of the house caused by unqualified waterproof materials selected during construction or unreasonable waterproofing treatment, re-select qualified waterproof materials for treatment. For structural gaps such as those at the lap joints of metal roof panels, where sealing adhesives are prone to aging and cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction of the panels caused by daytime sun exposure and nighttime cooling, remove the old adhesive and re-apply mastic or silicone.

Drainage System Issues

If the gutter has no horizontal slope and the outlet design is unreasonable, water cannot drain during heavy rain, leading to leakage or backflow. Check the gutter slope to ensure no water accumulation, install a flashing plate above the connection, with butyl tape inside, and ensure the gutter side panel is at least 20mm higher than the bottom of the roof panel waves. At the same time, optimize the roof drainage slope to reduce water accumulation, and ensure smooth drainage for houses with built-in drainage systems.
