Container House Cleaning and Maintenance

Quản trị 14 tháng 9, 2026

The cleaning and maintenance of container houses require selecting appropriate methods based on the type of contamination. After cleaning, the interior and exterior of the container should be clean, residue-free, odor-free, and meet cargo suitability standards. The specific operations and standards are as follows:

I. Cleaning Methods

  1. Clean Water Cleaning Suitable for mild contamination or routine maintenance, this method involves rinsing the interior and exterior surfaces of the container with low-pressure water flow to remove loose dirt such as dust and mud. Care should be taken to direct the water flow to prevent sewage from flowing back into crevices or corners.

  2. High-Pressure Hot Water or Steam Cleaning For stubborn stains (such as oil and adhesive residues) or containers that have carried hazardous goods, high-temperature and high-pressure water flow or steam is used to soften and strip away contaminants, while the high temperature can kill some bacteria. It is necessary to control the temperature (usually 60-80°C) and pressure (to avoid damaging the container coating) and to use professional equipment (such as high-pressure cleaning machines).

  3. Chemical Cleaning Used for the removal of special contaminants (such as chemical residues and heavy metals), this method requires selecting corresponding chemical reagents based on the type of contaminant (such as alkaline cleaners for oil stains and acidic cleaners for rust). Protective gear should be worn during operation, and it is essential to ensure thorough neutralization of residual reagents after cleaning to prevent corrosion of the container or contamination of subsequent cargo.

II. Cleaning Standards

  1. Clean and Residue-Free Interior and Exterior After cleaning, the container surface and corners should be free of stains, garbage, or chemical substances, especially the original hazardous goods signs should be removed to avoid misleading subsequent use.

  2. Odor-Free Ventilation or drying (such as hot air circulation) should be used to remove moisture from the container, preventing mold growth or the emission of odors from chemical reagents, ensuring compliance with transportation requirements for food, medicine, and other goods.

  3. Cargo Suitability Standards The container structure should be intact (no deformation or rust), with good sealing (no leakage from door seams or vents), and the cleanliness should meet international or regional hygiene standards (such as ITCO ACC standards) to ensure cargo safety and compliance.

III. Special Scenario Handling

  • Tank Containers: A closed three-dimensional cleaning technique should be used, involving a process of “ventilation → steam cooking → mechanical cleaning → hot air drying,” and equipped with an exhaust gas (wastewater) treatment system to prevent environmental pollution from chemical residues.
  • Residential Containers: Daily maintenance involves wiping walls and floors, promptly removing garbage or corrosive substances; if the surface coating is scratched, anti-rust agents should be applied to prevent rust spread.
