Installation of Ceiling Lights in Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The installation steps for ceiling lights in container houses mainly include power disconnection, removal of old fixtures, installation of the base, wiring, securing the light fixture, installation of the faceplate, and power-on testing. Specific operations should be carried out in combination with the type of light fixture and the structural characteristics of the container house.

I. Pre-installation Preparation

  1. Power Disconnection: Turn off the circuit breaker for the corresponding circuit in the container house. Use an electrical tester to confirm that there is no electricity before proceeding to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  2. Tool and Material Preparation: Prepare tools such as screwdrivers, electric drills, expansion screws, insulating tape, and wire connectors. Also, check that all light fixture components are complete (e.g., base, lampshade, light source).
  3. Determine Installation Location: Select an appropriate location based on the layout of the container house to ensure even lighting and avoid areas prone to collisions. For example, in a bedroom, avoid placing the light directly above the bed; in a living room, it can be installed in the center.

II. Installation Steps

  1. Remove Old Fixture (if applicable): Use a screwdriver to remove the old light fixture and take off the base plate (if it is a chandelier). Clean the ceiling surface.
  2. Install the Base:
    • Mark the drilling positions on the ceiling and use an electric drill to make holes and insert expansion tubes.
    • Align the base with the holes and secure it with self-tapping screws or expansion screws to ensure it is stable and not loose.
  3. Wiring:
    • Identify the neutral wire, live wire, and ground wire (if any) reserved on the ceiling and connect them to the corresponding wires of the light fixture.
    • Use wire connectors to secure the connection points and wrap the exposed parts with insulating tape to prevent short circuits.
  4. Secure the Light Fixture:
    • Align the main body of the light fixture with the base and secure it using methods such as clips, screws, or chains.
    • For recessed light fixtures, insert the spring clips into both sides of the fixture and press them firmly into the ceiling opening.
  5. Install the Faceplate and Decorations: After testing that the power is on and working normally, turn off the power and install the lampshade and any decorations (if applicable).

III. Precautions

  1. Load-bearing and Sealing: The ceiling material of container houses may be relatively thin. Choose lightweight light fixtures and ensure they are firmly fixed. Avoid using flammable materials as a backing.
  2. Protection Rating: Prioritize light fixtures with an IP20 (for home use) or IP40 (splash-resistant) protection rating to prevent dust and moisture from entering.
  3. Heat Dissipation Design: Avoid placing the light fixture in close contact with the ceiling for long periods to ensure sufficient heat dissipation space and extend its service life.
