Container House Blown Away by Typhoon

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Generally, a structurally sturdy container house will not be blown away by a typhoon, but there are exceptional circumstances that can cause damage or even result in it being blown away.

Wind Resistance of Container Houses Under Normal Conditions

A structurally robust container mobile home typically weighs around 2 tons, which provides it with a certain degree of stability. Under normal conditions, it can withstand strong winds without easily tipping over, falling apart, or being blown away. This is because the structural design of the container itself is relatively reasonable, with its frame structure offering strong support. Additionally, its significant weight gives it sufficient "grip" on the ground to maintain stability when faced with wind forces.

Special Cases and Cause Analysis

However, there are also some exceptional situations. For example, Mr. Huang from Haiyan, Jiaxing, purchased a container house labeled with a "wind resistance rating of Level 10" for his parents. When it encountered winds of Level 8, it suffered severe damage, with the upper side wall panels missing, the metal frame tilted and deformed, and large areas of the lower roof panels falling off. The main reasons for this situation are as follows:

  • Advertising claims not matching reality: The manufacturer explained that the wind resistance rating was merely for advertising purposes and had not undergone actual testing. This led consumers to have a misconception about the actual wind resistance capability of the container house when making purchases, believing it could withstand the corresponding wind levels, when in fact it could not.
  • Failure to choose an appropriate model: Mr. Huang purchased a standard container house. To resist higher wind forces, it would need to be reinforced and use higher-standard materials. The design and material usage of standard container houses may not meet the requirements for use in high-wind environments, making them prone to damage when encountering strong winds.

To avoid similar situations, when purchasing container houses, consumers should carefully understand the actual wind resistance capability of the products and not rely solely on advertising claims. At the same time, they should choose an appropriate model based on the actual usage environment and carry out necessary reinforcement to ensure that the container house remains safe and stable when facing strong winds and other severe weather conditions.
