Setting Standards for Mobile Toilets at Construction Sites
The setting standards for mobile toilets at construction sites should be comprehensively considered from aspects such as configuration quantity, location selection, barrier-free facilities, appliances and maintenance structures, and other requirements, as detailed below:

Configuration by area and number of people: It is recommended to set up one mobile toilet point for every 50 - 80 workers in the construction area of a Nanchang construction site, one group (2 - 3 compartments) for every 100 people in the living area, and one set of finished mobile toilets (4 units) for every 50,000 square meters in each construction section. For landscape and garage construction sites, set up one toilet stall for every 50 people. For mobile toilets inside buildings, set up one unit every four floors, with one stall per unit.
Location selection: In the construction area of a Nanchang construction site, mobile toilets can be placed near tower cranes or material storage areas to avoid interfering with construction workflows. In the living area, they should be conveniently located for workers to use at night, placed on the necessary paths for workers, kept at least 3 meters away from construction machinery and temporary electrical facilities, away from the edges of foundation pits and slopes, and placed on hardened ground at slightly higher elevations during the rainy season. For landscape construction sites, place them at sewage wells to facilitate connection to municipal sewage networks. For garage mobile toilets, place them in prominent or corner locations on the construction site and set up guiding signs.
Barrier-free facilities: Install a ramp at the entrance with a width of no less than 0.8 meters and a slope of no more than 1:12. The ground should be made of non-slip materials to prevent water accumulation. Inside, provide appropriately sized hand-washing sinks, handrails, and other facilities. Each mobile toilet should have at least one barrier-free toilet stall, with an internal clear width of no less than 0.8 meters. The height of the toilet seat should be 0.45 meters, with safety handrails installed on both side walls at a height of 0.7 meters, and a wheelchair turning space of no less than 1.5 meters reserved in front. The height of the hand-washing sink should be 0.75 meters, with a knee space of 0.45 meters reserved below. Sturdy handrails should be installed on the surrounding walls at a height of 0.85 meters to 0.9 meters. Clearly marked barrier-free signs should be set up in the barrier-free facility area, with lighting brightness of no less than 200 lux. The switch positions should be easy to operate and avoid direct strong light.
Appliances and maintenance structures: The maintenance structure must be made of non-combustible materials (rock wool filled inside galvanized iron sheets). For landscape construction sites where there are sewage pipes that can connect to septic tanks or municipal sewage networks, install water-flush mobile toilets with hand-washing sinks inside. For mobile toilets within the range of tower cranes during garage construction, additional bamboo fence protection measures must be taken for the roof. Mobile toilets inside buildings can be dry toilets, but they must be cleaned by dedicated personnel on a daily basis. The maintenance structure of the toilets should have exhaust grilles, and exhaust fans should be installed in projects where conditions permit.
Other requirements: The sewage discharge system at Nanchang construction sites must comply with environmental protection requirements. Priority should be given to selecting mobile toilets with sewage treatment functions. During peak construction periods, increase the number of spare points by 10% - 15%. Temporary emergency toilets can be set up in advance around the construction site. It is recommended to inspect the usage of toilet points weekly and adjust their locations in a timely manner based on worker feedback. Post distribution maps and guiding route maps of mobile toilets on each floor at prominent locations such as elevators and floors.
