Common Container House Sizes
The common sizes of ordinary container houses can be divided into three categories: standard sizes, customized sizes, and special-purpose sizes, as follows:

I. Standard Sizes Internationally, standard container houses are typically modified from 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers, with the following internal dimensions:
- 20-foot Standard Container: Length: 5898mm, Width: 2352mm, Height: 2390mm, with an area of approximately 14 square meters, suitable for single-person offices, dormitories, or shops.
- 40-foot Standard Container: Length: 12024mm, Width: 2352mm, Height: 2390mm, with an area of approximately 28 square meters, which can be divided into multi-functional spaces or multi-person dormitories.
- 40-foot High Cube Container: Length: 12024mm, Width: 2352mm, Height: 2655mm, with an increased ceiling height of 2.65 meters, suitable for exhibition halls or housing that requires greater height.
In domestic construction sites, a common standard size is 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, with an area of 18 square meters, capable of accommodating 10 people, often used for workers' dormitories, kitchens, or toilets.
II. Customized Sizes According to customer needs, the dimensions of container houses can be flexibly adjusted:
- Length: Commonly 3 meters, 6 meters, and 7 meters, but can also be customized to 8 meters, 9 meters, 12 meters, or even 14 meters.
- Width: Options include 2.5 meters, 2.55 meters, 3 meters, or 4 meters.
- Height: Typically ranges from 2.6 meters to 2.9 meters, with some special designs reaching up to 3.2 meters. For example, a micro container house measuring 3m x 3m x 2.8m is suitable for guard posts or small warehouses; a two-story container house measuring 7m x 3m x 2.8m with a corridor and canopy is suitable for use as a mobile home.
III. Special-Purpose Sizes For specific scenarios, the dimensions and structure of container houses are further optimized:
- Shipping Container Modifications: Such as 5.69m x 2.13m, 11.8m x 2.13m, etc., which must comply with international transportation standards.
- Modular Combinations: By joining multiple standard containers, larger spaces can be formed, such as 60-foot containers (formed by stacking two 20-foot containers vertically) or 45-foot high cube containers (with an internal volume of 13.58m x 2.34m x 2.68m).
- Functional Modules: Modular container houses for showers, toilets, etc., have more compact dimensions, typically 3m x 3m or smaller, to efficiently utilize space.
