Common Container House Size Diagram

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The sizes of commonly used container houses can be divided into three categories based on their types: standard container modifications, custom-designed mobile homes, and duplex structures. The specific parameters are as follows:

I. Standard Container House Sizes

Standard container houses are modified from maritime containers, retaining the internationally standardized size framework for easy transportation and stacking.

  • 20-foot General Purpose Container: Internal dimensions are 5.9 meters in length and 2.3 meters in width, with a nominal capacity of 33 cubic meters and an actual usable space of approximately 28 cubic meters. Its height is typically 2.39 meters (including the roof panel), suitable for small spaces for single or double occupancy.
  • 40-foot General Purpose Container: The capacity increases to 58 cubic meters, with an internal length of 11.8 meters and the same width as the 20-foot container. The high-cube version can reach a height of 2.7 meters, increasing vertical space utilization and suitable for scenarios requiring higher ceiling heights.
  • 45-foot Container: The capacity further expands to 86 cubic meters, with an internal length of approximately 13.5 meters, suitable for large open-plan designs such as open office areas or multi-person dormitories.

II. Custom-Designed Mobile Home Sizes

Mobile homes achieve flexible combinations through modular design, with sizes not restricted by standard containers and customizable according to needs.

  • Small Single Room: Common dimensions are 3 meters by 3 meters, with an area of 9 square meters, suitable for single occupancy or small functional rooms (such as bathrooms or storage rooms).
  • Suite: Formed by joining two small single rooms to create a space of 6 meters by 3 meters, with an area of 18 square meters. It can be divided into a bedroom and living area, meeting the needs of families or multiple occupants.

III. Duplex Container House Sizes

Duplex structures achieve three-dimensional space utilization by stacking or joining multiple containers, with a typical example being a two-story house formed by joining three 40-foot containers.

  • Overall Dimensions: 11.8 meters in length, 6.75 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height (including the second floor), with a usable area of 80 square meters.
  • Spatial Layout: The first floor can be designed as public areas such as a living room and kitchen, while the second floor serves as bedrooms or office areas, connected by internal stairs, balancing functionality and comfort.

IV. Supplementary Basic Parameters

  • Wall Panel Thickness: Selected based on the usage environment, with 50 millimeters for ordinary dormitories, 75 millimeters for insulation and cold protection needs, and up to 100 millimeters in extremely cold regions.
  • Frame Profiles: The top beam is 180 millimeters, the bottom beam is 160 millimeters, and the columns use 2.0-3.0 millimeter thick galvanized steel to ensure structural strength.
  • Stacking Performance: Conventionally stackable up to 3 layers, compatible with international container lifting points for easy lifting and transportation.

The above size data covers a variety of needs from single occupancy to multi-person office spaces, and in practical applications, the design can be further optimized based on the site, functionality, and budget.
