Is the Thermal Insulation of Cement Prefabricated Houses Good?

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

The thermal insulation performance of cement prefabricated houses is relatively poor.

The poor thermal insulation of cement prefabricated houses is mainly related to material properties, structural design, and insulation measures. From the perspective of material properties, cement prefabricated houses are mainly composed of hard materials such as concrete, bricks, and steel. These materials have high heat transfer coefficients and strong thermal conductivity, acting like 'high-speed channels' for heat transfer, allowing indoor heat to quickly transfer to the outdoors, resulting in rapid indoor heat loss and poor thermal insulation. Moreover, the smooth interior walls of cement houses have strong heat absorption capacity, continuously absorbing indoor heat and further lowering the room temperature.

In terms of structural design, cement houses generally adopt a simple structure with large interior spaces, and the connection areas between the roof and walls are prone to forming thermal bridges. Thermal bridges are like 'leaks' for heat loss, exacerbating heat dissipation. At the same time, the ground is usually made of cement, which acts like a 'heat dissipation plate' in winter, easily dissipating indoor heat and resulting in lower indoor temperatures.

Regarding insulation measures, rural cement houses often lack insulation layers on their exterior walls. Many old houses, due to technological limitations during construction, cannot add insulation materials to the walls, significantly reducing the thermal insulation effect of the houses.

However, although cement prefabricated houses have deficiencies in thermal insulation performance, some measures can be taken to improve it. Thermal insulation treatment is an effective method, such as applying thermal insulation materials to the wall surfaces and laying thermal insulation materials on the roof and ground. These thermal insulation materials are like putting a 'thermal insulation coat' on the house, reducing heat transfer. Optimizing the interior layout can also play a role. Heavy curtains can block indoor heat from dissipating through windows, installing thermal insulation films can improve the thermal insulation performance of windows, and laying carpets can reduce heat dissipation from the ground. Using heating equipment is also a common improvement method. Air-source heat pumps, electric heaters, underfloor heating, and other equipment can provide heat to the interior and raise the indoor temperature.
