Cardboard Prefabricated House

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Cardboard prefabricated houses are currently mainly reflected in the handmade cardboard house models and the actual construction of paper buildings.

Handmade Cardboard House Models

  • Basic Model Making: You can make a small house model with cardboard. First, draw the main structure of the house and cut it out with a cutter. When making windows, use double-layer cardboard, with the inner layer serving as the window frame. After making the front, back, and side panels, use a glue gun to stick them together. Then, make the door and accessories. Use a knife to carve textures on the door surface and make door handles. When making a detachable roof, mark the positions first, build the roof attic and chimney, and then use small cardboard pieces to make roof tiles and trim the edges. You can also use crushed eggshells glued with plastic glue to the main body of the house to enhance the effect, and finally paint it.
  • Double-Decker Miniature Cardboard House: You can use old cardboard to build a double-decker miniature cardboard house. For example, design a purple-toned house. After piecing the cardboard together, decorate it with stickers of different colors. Make furniture such as beds, bedside tables, and pillows, install glass and photos, and build stairs, sinks, showers, modular cabinets, stoves, chairs, tables, sofas, etc. Place the corresponding items to complete the construction.
  • Creative-Shaped Houses: Draw the shape of the house randomly and cut it out with a cutter. Flatten the cardboard with a stick and then cut it into strips of the same width. Use a hot-melt glue gun to stick the strips onto the cardboard of the house. After sticking the cardboard of the house, find a large piece of cardboard to make the roof, cut out an arc, cut the cardboard strips into small pieces and stick them onto the roof to make tiles, and reserve a position for the chimney. You can also make suites, attic small doors, balconies, etc., install suite roofs, trim roof gaps, make strangely shaped chimneys, and install chimneys, doors, and windows.

Actual Construction of Paper Buildings

During the second Cardboard Construction Season at Chongqing University, student teams built paper buildings using materials such as cardboard and rivets. This activity was a course offered by the College of Architecture and Urban Planning. More than 350 students formed 19 teams and completed 19 paper buildings with different shapes within 8 hours. Some of the works also participated in exhibitions. This shows that cardboard also has certain applications and explorations in actual building construction, although currently, the scale of such actually constructed cardboard buildings is relatively small, and they are mostly used for teaching and creative displays.
