Box Container House Size

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The size of box container houses varies depending on their type and purpose. Common dimensions include 3m×3m×2.8m, 6m×3m×2.8m, 7m×3m×2.8m, and custom sizes such as 11.8m×6.75m×2.8m (after assembly).

I. Standard Size Types

  1. Small Box Houses
Common dimensions are 3 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, covering an area of approximately 9 square meters. Due to limited space, these houses are typically used as construction site guardrooms, temporary warehouses, or for single-person accommodation. They have high material utilization rates but fewer customization needs.

  2. Medium Box Houses
With dimensions of 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, these houses cover an area of 18 square meters and are commonly used in construction sites and road construction projects. They can accommodate around 10 people and can be transformed into functional areas such as kitchens and toilets to meet basic living needs.

  3. Two-Story Box Houses
These houses have dimensions of 7 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, covering an area of 21 square meters. They are often used as two-story container activity houses. Their characteristic is the addition of corridors and canopies on the basis of standard dimensions, with indoor space consistent with the 6-meter type but expanded through vertical assembly.

II. Custom and Assembled Sizes

  1. Assembled Expansion Type
Larger spaces can be achieved by assembling multiple containers. For example, three 40-foot containers assembled together have dimensions of 11.8 meters×6.75 meters×2.8 meters, providing a usable area of up to 80 square meters. They are suitable for duplex houses or office areas and can be furnished with living rooms, bedrooms, and office facilities.

  2. Special Needs Customization
The size of box houses can be flexibly adjusted according to customer needs. For example, Xi'an Huateng offers packing-box houses with standard dimensions of 3 meters×6 meters×2.8 meters, but they support horizontal or vertical free assembly to create diverse spatial layouts, meeting the needs of temporary offices and commercial buildings.

III. International Standards and Load Capacity

In international standard containers, 20-foot containers have a load capacity of approximately 25 tons, while 40-foot containers have a load capacity of approximately 45 tons. However, when transformed into houses, internal structural optimization must be considered. For example, Huateng's packing-box houses in Shaanxi use galvanized profile frames and fireproof flooring to ensure load capacity and enhance safety, with a service life of over 15 years.
