Beijing Mobile Toilet Project
Beijing has achieved remarkable results in mobile toilet projects, covering various fields such as urban public toilet renovation, major event services, and the application of environmental protection technologies.
I. Urban Public Toilet Renovation and Quality Improvement
Beijing takes the "Toilet Revolution" as the core to promote the upgrading of public toilet facilities and service optimization. In 2025, barrier-free renovations will be carried out on 33 public toilets, adopting a "one toilet, one policy" model. Customized plans will be formulated based on the location, structure, and service population of each public toilet. By adding facilities such as handrails, ramps, children's toilets, and baby care stations, the practicality and safety will be enhanced. For example, the modular mobile public toilet on the north side of Mingguang Bridge in Haidian District has added a barrier-free toilet cubicle equipped with an emergency call device to meet the needs of special groups. At the same time, to address issues such as low flushing efficiency and insufficient privacy protection in hutong public toilets, pipelines have been dredged and booster pumps have been added for 14 public toilets. The length and height of partitions in 85 public toilets have been adjusted, and "follow-up" inspections have been carried out, with 223 problem rectifications throughout the year. In terms of rural public toilets, the "five-have" management and maintenance mechanism has been implemented. Through regular inspections of 440 rural public toilets and side streets, 2,287 problems have been urged to be rectified throughout the year, promoting continuous improvement of the living environment. In addition, public toilets in industries such as rail transit, parks, and supermarkets have been included in unified supervision, with monthly assessments and public disclosure of problems. A total of 277 problem rectifications in industry public toilets have been carried out throughout the year, improving the overall management level.
II. Mobile Toilet Service Guarantee for Major Events
Beijing provides customized mobile toilet services for major events. In the 2026 Tiananmen Square mobile toilet service project, Beijing Urban Mechanical Sweeping Service Co., Ltd. won the bid. It will set up 165 water-flushing toilet cubicle tent toilets on the east side of the road and 30 mobile toilets on the west side of the road and the south side of the Memorial Hall, with a total of no less than 195 toilet cubicles. The service period is from March 20, 2026, to November 15, 2026. The mobile toilet service project for the National Flag Guard will involve enterprises such as Beijing Aibei Space Technology Co., Ltd., which will provide installation and maintenance services. The contract performance period is from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, with a budget amount of 521,000 yuan.
III. Application and Innovation of Environmental Protection Technologies
Enterprises such as Beijing Aibei Space Technology Co., Ltd. have developed multiple environmental protection and water-saving technologies to promote the greening of mobile toilets. The micro-water flushing technology has an average flushing volume of only 0.75 L per person per time; the foam sealing toilet technology consumes no more than 30 ml of water per person per time; the packing toilet technology enables foot-pedal or electric packing, reducing pollution; the vacuum toilet technology has extremely low water consumption, low energy consumption, no odor, and reduces the volume of waste. These technologies are widely applied in urban public toilets, event services, and rural areas, contributing to the achievement of water conservation and environmental protection goals.
