Appropriate Size of Container House

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The appropriate size of a container house should be selected based on its specific use, the number of occupants, and site conditions. Common standard sizes are 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, suitable for construction site offices and temporary residences. For special needs, custom sizes such as 3 meters × 3 meters (small space) or 7 meters × 3 meters (two-story structure) can be made.

I. Standard Size: 3 meters × 6 meters (Suitable for Most Scenarios)

This size is the mainstream specification for container houses, with external dimensions of 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, and an internal net height of approximately 2.6 meters, covering an area of about 18 square meters. Its advantages include:

  • High Space Utilization: It can accommodate a double bed, a simple desk, and a standing wardrobe, meeting the living needs of one or two people while avoiding space waste.
  • Convenient Transportation and Installation: It is easy to hoist and can pass through narrow construction channels. During assembly, the four-corner embedded parts are aligned and fixed with bolts, allowing for electricity connection and occupancy within half a day.
  • Strong Functional Adaptability: It is widely used in construction site offices, rest rooms, temporary dormitories, etc. The walls are made of double-layer color steel plates with rock wool, providing thermal insulation, moisture resistance, and sound insulation. The top is equipped with inspection ports and exhaust vents, and exhaust fans can be installed to improve ventilation.

II. Small Size: 3 meters × 3 meters (Special Purposes)

This size covers an area of only 9 square meters and is suitable for scenarios with extremely low space requirements, such as:

  • Construction Site Guard Room: It can accommodate 1-2 people on duty and is equipped with basic office desks and chairs.
  • Small Warehouse: It is used for storing tools, materials, and other items.
  • Temporary Isolation Room: Such as single-person isolation in medical and epidemic prevention scenarios.
It should be noted that due to the low material utilization rate of this size, it usually requires custom production after the customer clearly states their needs.

III. Large Size: 7 meters × 3 meters (Two-Story Structure)

This size covers an area of 21 square meters and is mostly used for two-story container mobile homes, with features including:

  • Strong Expandability: The usable area can be increased by adding corridors and balconies. The indoor space is the same as that of a 6-meter standard container, but it can accommodate more functional areas.
  • Suitable Scenarios: Construction site dormitories, temporary exhibition halls, and other scenarios that require hierarchical or zoned management.
  • Structural Optimization: Horizontal beams are used to connect the framework, and the upper partition, exterior wall panels, and door and window frames are designed as an integrated unit to enhance stability.

IV. Custom Sizes (Flexibly Adapt to Needs)

If standard sizes cannot meet the needs, non-standard specifications can be customized, such as:

  • Width Adjustment: Options include 2.5 meters, 2.55 meters, 4 meters, etc., to adapt to special site limitations.
  • Height Adjustment: Options include 2.6 meters, 2.7 meters, 2.9 meters, etc., to meet height requirements (such as for exhibition halls and residences).
  • Length Extension: Such as 3 meters × 8 meters, 3 meters × 12 meters, etc., used for dividing multi-functional spaces or multi-person dormitories.
When customizing, it is necessary to communicate with the manufacturer about the positions of doors and windows, partitions, and interior decoration needs to ensure a balance between functionality and budget.
