American Internet-Famous Container House

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

American internet-famous container houses mainly refer to expandable container houses made in China. These houses have gained widespread attention and popularity in the United States due to their advantages of low price, short construction period, and modern design.

I. Rise Background

In recent years, the "tiny house movement" has emerged in the United States, pursuing innovative, portable, simple, economical, and sustainable living styles. At the same time, the promotion of internet media, such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, has sparked a great deal of online discussion about the tiny house movement, with many young people starting to chase after creative and inspiring mini-houses. Against this backdrop, expandable container houses made in China have entered the US market and quickly become popular.

II. House Characteristics

  1. Low Price: A container house of about 70 square meters has a body price of approximately $15,800. Including shipping costs, tariffs, and other fees, the total landed cost is about $28,689, which is less than 200,000 yuan, only one-third to half of the construction cost of a local house in the United States.
  2. Short Construction Period: The production cycle is only 30 days, and the entire ocean shipping process takes about 50 days. Upon arrival at an open space, it can be unfolded like a Transformer and assembled in just one day, greatly shortening the construction time.
  3. Modern Design: The container houses feature novel designs with fire and water resistance. The interior is exquisitely decorated, with bedrooms, independent kitchens and bathrooms, and hard furnishings all pre-installed. They are ready for occupancy once water and electricity are connected.

III. Market Response

Container houses made in China have been warmly welcomed in the US market. On platforms like YouTube, a large number of bloggers have posted "prefab house" unboxing videos, with view counts repeatedly reaching new highs. Meanwhile, the United States is the largest buyer market, accounting for more than 20% of overseas orders. Customs statistics also show a significant increase in the export value of domestic integrated houses during the same period, indicating the huge potential of container houses in the US market.
