American Container Mobile House

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

American container mobile houses are movable residences that use containers as carriers and are constructed through modular design, factory prefabrication, and on-site assembly. They have characteristics such as low-carbon environmental protection, high efficiency, and relatively low cost, and are gradually gaining a foothold in the American market.

Design and Construction Features

  • Modular Design: The entire building is disassembled into several independent spatial units, such as bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. Each unit is a complete module that can be transported and installed independently. For example, China Construction Steel Structure's "building block house" is loaded into containers in the form of four independent modules for transoceanic transportation and is directly assembled on-site upon arrival.
  • Factory Prefabrication: More than 80% of the processes, including the main structure, interior decoration, and the installation of mechanical and electrical pipelines, are completed in the workshop. This significantly improves the precision of product quality control and frees workers from the harsh environment of outdoor high-altitude operations.
  • On-site Assembly: After the house arrives at the designated location, only a few processes, such as module connection and water and electricity connection, are required before it can be put into use. Almost no additional large-scale construction is needed, and the on-site "assembly" stage does not generate large-scale noise or construction waste.

Advantages

  • Low-carbon Environmental Protection: Factory operations reduce pollution from on-site construction, meeting the stringent requirements of the North American market for green construction.
  • High Efficiency: The construction period is significantly shortened. For example, in a project for an 18-story high-rise residential building in Hong Kong undertaken by an enterprise, the overall construction period was shortened by 60% to 70% after adopting a modular construction plan.
  • Relatively Low Cost: Compared with traditional buildings, container mobile houses have a lower cost. For example, some young people transform containers themselves, with a monthly rent of only $600. A 40-foot foldable house purchased by an American couple has a total landed cost of less than $30,000, which is roughly equivalent to 200,000 yuan.

Market Application and Prospects

  • Growing Market Demand: In the first half of 2026, the total export value of prefabricated buildings under China's HS code 9406 increased by 45% year-on-year. Steel structure modular houses were the main export category, and overseas market demand maintained relatively rapid growth.
  • Diverse Application Scenarios: They can be adapted to various scenarios such as engineering camps, mobile commerce, cultural and tourism accommodation, and emergency support.
  • Broad Development Prospects: With the increasing demand for green construction and efficient and convenient housing, as well as the continuous progress and improvement of container mobile house technology, their application prospects in the American and global markets are very broad.
