Yuqing Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

There is relatively little information on Yuqing container houses, but Yuqing has made remarkable achievements in the field of container water transportation.

The Inaugural Voyage of Container Water Transportation Opens a New Chapter

On July 14, 2023, a landmark day arrived. Two 500-ton cargo ships, the 'Hangdian 662' and the 'Hangdian 663', loaded with 36 containers, set sail from the Shawan Wharf in the Yuqing Port Area of Zunyi Port, heading straight for Fuling in Chongqing. This marked the beginning of container water transportation in Guizhou, with the official opening of the Guizhou Wujiang container shipping route (Yuqing-Chongqing). The 'Qian goods' transported on this inaugural voyage, including chemical raw materials like high-calcium stone powder, were supplied to well-known domestic enterprises such as Chongqing Iron & Steel and Nippon Paint after arriving at the Huangqi Port in Fuling.

The Shipping Route Brings Positive Impacts in Multiple Aspects

  • Reducing Logistics Costs: Compared to past road transportation, using containers for water transportation reduces logistics costs by over 30%. This is undoubtedly a significant boon for enterprises along the river, effectively enhancing their economic efficiency and market competitiveness.
  • Extensive Radiation Area: After the opening of the shipping route, it effectively radiates counties and districts such as Fuquan, Yuqing, Sinan, and Shiqian, promoting material exchanges and economic development among regions.
  • Promoting the Construction of the Shipping System: It helps build a major water transportation channel in Guizhou and creates a shipping system featuring interconnected main and branch routes and direct access from rivers to the sea. It has attracted seven enterprises from outside the province, including Minsheng Shipping, Chongqing Fuling Port Authority, Shanghai Port, Nanjing Port, and Yingkou Trading Company, as well as 38 water transportation enterprises within Guizhou Province, to participate and jointly promote the development of water transportation in Guizhou.

Supporting Facility Construction Boosts Development

  • The Key Role of Shawan Wharf: As the first standard cargo wharf in Guizhou, the Shawan Wharf has an annual throughput capacity of 5 million tons. The local government has planned the Zunyi Port-Yuqing Shawan Port Modern Logistics Park based on this wharf. The project, with a planned area of 3,000 acres and a total investment of approximately 5 billion yuan, is divided into three phases for overall planning. It serves as an important gateway for Yuqing County to integrate into the Yangtze River Economic Belt and an emerging strategic channel for 'Qian goods to go out of the mountains'.
  • Diverse Functions of the Logistics Park: After the completion of the logistics park, it will not only provide services such as logistics transit, distribution, collection and distribution, processing, and warehousing but also enable functions such as information consulting, port services, commercial circulation, and capital settlement. It will drive the rapid formation of a logistics cluster along the Wujiang River and promote the coordinated development of industries along the route.
