Yingtan Marathon Portable Toilets

Admin 10 de octubre de 2026

The planning and management of portable toilets for the Yingtan Marathon should comprehensively consider aspects such as rental layout, signage installation, and outdoor usage to ensure efficient and orderly sanitation services during the event.

I. Scenario-Based Rental Layout Plan

Marathons experience high foot traffic in a single day, necessitating the anticipation of peak periods and the rational allocation of resources in advance.

  • Toilet Ratio and Quantity: It is recommended to configure male and female toilet stalls at a ratio of 1:1.5, with one portable toilet installed for every 500 people, and the distance between toilet stalls not exceeding 300 meters. For instance, if the event is expected to have 20,000 participants, at least 40 portable toilets are required, with female toilet stalls accounting for 60% of the total.
  • Functional Zoning and Environmental Protection: Add accessible toilets and adopt flush or vacuum sewage systems to prevent odor diffusion. For equipment selection, it is recommended to use double-unit portable toilets with partitions to balance privacy and ventilation needs.
  • Implementation Steps: Preliminary research should clarify the event time, site constraints, and foot traffic. Installation and testing of water and electricity systems should be completed 24 hours before the event. After the event, withdrawal, cleaning, and disinfection should be completed within 48 hours to ensure site restoration.

II. Signage Installation Guidelines

Clear signage can enhance usage efficiency and reduce the time participants spend searching for facilities.

  • Sign Types and Quantity: Large directional signs should be installed at the main entrance, with directional signs in service areas. Signs should be installed according to the standard of one portable toilet per 500 people, with one prominent sign outside each toilet area.
  • Installation Location and Height: Signs should be placed alongside participant routes, within 100 meters of the start, finish, and rest areas. The recommended height is between 1.5 and 1.8 meters, with materials that are waterproof and sun-resistant, and clear fonts. Reflective strips or lighting equipment should be added for nighttime use.
  • Content Specifications: Signs should include the words 'Portable Toilet' and 'Accessible Toilet', accompanied by male and female symbols, to ensure intuitive and easy-to-understand information.

III. Outdoor Usage Precautions

Site selection, installation, and maintenance should balance safety and practicality.

  • Site Selection Requirements: Choose areas with high elevation and good drainage, avoiding low-lying areas prone to water accumulation. Locate near supply stations or the finish line for convenience.
  • Installation Details: Ensure the ground is level, using supports or non-slip mats if necessary. Reserve space around the toilets and set up barriers. Confirm electricity and sewage conditions in advance to avoid later adjustments.
  • Maintenance and Emergency Response: Adjust cleaning frequency based on foot traffic (at least 2-3 times daily), increasing disinfection frequency in hot weather. Assign dedicated personnel for on-site supervision, set up spare toilets, and provide a clear service hotline to ensure rapid response to issues. In special weather conditions, install ventilation equipment, sunshades, or inspect drainage systems.
