Yanqing Container House Design

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

Yanqing container house design takes sustainability, environmental protection, energy efficiency, humanization, and technological innovation as its core concepts, providing safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient solutions tailored to the needs of harsh environments such as high mountains, severe cold, and strong winds.

I. Design Concept and Background Yanqing container house design is guided by the concept of "Green Olympics" and was custom-designed by China Communications Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. (CCPD) for the Yanqing competition area of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The original design intention revolves around sustainability and environmental protection, proposing a full-cycle innovative implementation plan for "sustainable reuse" aimed at addressing extreme environments such as high mountains, severe cold, and strong winds while meeting safety and comfort requirements. This design has been approved for the 2021 National Key R&D Program "Science and Technology Winter Olympics" key project by the Ministry of Science and Technology, focusing on breakthroughs in key technologies such as ecological toilet wastewater treatment and reuse, low-carbon heating insulation and ventilation.

II. Structural and Functional Characteristics

  1. Structural Safety and Flexibility
The house adopts a fully welded frame structure with high strength, wind resistance, earthquake resistance, sinking resistance, and waterproofing properties. It can be moved as a whole and withdrawn without leaving traces, adapting to the needs of temporary facilities. Modular design supports rapid assembly and disassembly, facilitating recycling.

  2. Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Technologies

    • Envelope Structure Optimization: By increasing the thickness of roof and exterior wall insulation materials (such as aerogel vacuum panels, aerogel felts, and rock wool boards), heating energy consumption is significantly reduced. Studies show that aerogel vacuum panels have the best energy-saving effect, while rock wool boards offer better cost-effectiveness.
    • Floor Heat Transfer Control: The floor does not directly contact the ground, with heat transfer energy consumption accounting for over 10%. Using materials with low thermal conductivity (such as 0.2 W/(m²·K)) can reduce energy consumption by more than 46%.
    • Exterior Window and Door Design: Low thermal conductivity and high solar heat gain coefficient exterior windows are selected, optimizing the window-to-wall ratio (showing a trend of first decreasing and then increasing). Rock wool sandwich doors have better energy-saving effects than glass doors.
  3. Humanization and Technological Innovation
It integrates functional modules such as professional technical rooms, general-purpose rooms, mobile toilets, accessible toilets, and ecological treatment cabins to meet diverse needs. Internally equipped with aluminum alloy windows, security nets, sockets, air conditioners, lights, and other infrastructure, it achieves "ten-minute installation and one-hour occupancy."

III. Application Scenarios and Cases Yanqing container houses have been successfully applied in the mountain departure area, ski trail area, and technical rooms of the Alpine Skiing Center for the Winter Olympics, covering core functional areas such as commentator seats and OBS comprehensive broadcasting areas. Their characteristics of requiring no foundation and being placeable on muddy ground greatly enhance the adaptability of temporary facilities.
