Wu Xie's Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

In 'The Lost Tomb', Wu Xie's container house is composed of three containers and a regular concrete house, featuring a creative and cool combination of red, white, and blue colors. Here are the specific structures and features:

Overall Structure

  • Exterior Combination: The house is a combination of three containers and a regular concrete house. In terms of color, it uses red, white, and blue, creating a strong visual impact and a sense of creativity and coolness.
  • General Layout: The general structure consists of a red container on the first floor as the entrance hallway, a white container on the second floor as the study, a blue container on the third floor as the bedroom, and a regular house connected on the left serving as the living room and kitchen.

Details of Each Area

  • Entrance Hallway: Connects the study and the living room, with a relatively small space. Besides a simple sofa and a lamp placed against the left wall, there is a staircase on the right. The bright red color gives a welcoming feeling, warm and beautiful.
  • Study: Ascend the staircase from the entrance hallway to reach the study, with a door on the left leading to the living room. Here, books such as 'Ancient Chinese Dictionary' and 'Chinese Ancient Towns and Villages Tour' are placed, along with a bookshelf, a balcony, a reclining chair, and a round coffee table. It is a place where Wu Xie often stays to study archaeology-related content.
  • Living Room: An ordinary room extending from the study, featuring white floor-to-ceiling windows, an old nine-square cabinet, and an old wooden sofa. There is also a carved ancient figurine in the right corner, matching the artistic conception of Wu Xie's family's antique business.
  • Dining Room and Kitchen: Connected to the living room, they are linked to the third-floor blue container bedroom via a staircase. The blue and white background wall presents a Mediterranean style.
  • Bedroom: There are no physical partitions between the two bedrooms. The purely blue room is filled with a Mediterranean ambiance. Wu Xie once stayed up late here to study silk manuscripts.

Real-life Case Reference

In reality, there are also cases of container house renovations, such as the container renovation project at Aulanda Tribe in Chongming, Shanghai. These containers vary in size, posing design challenges. The designers not only consider the containers themselves but also expand the usable area through virtual boxes, creating a sense of beauty. The architectural complex is mainly white and wooden, simple, modern, and in harmony with the surrounding environment.
