Wooden Prefabricated House
A wooden prefabricated house is a building form that uses a wooden structure as its main body, with factory-prefabricated wood assembled on-site. It features a short construction period, high environmental protection, and flexible design.

Construction Methods and Characteristics
The core of wooden prefabricated houses lies in 'prefabrication' and 'assembly'. Factories pre-process the wood to form standardized components, which are then quickly assembled on-site through splicing and bolt connections, significantly shortening the construction period. For example, some prefabricated wooden houses can be completed within three days, primarily saving on labor costs. Their main structure is based on a lightweight frame, combined with dimension lumber and cladding to form a load-bearing system. The wood itself has the functions of regulating indoor humidity, purifying air, antibacterial properties, and balancing psychological emotions, highlighting its environmental protection and residential comfort. Additionally, wooden structures are flexible in design, adaptable to various schemes such as modern ecological styles and full solid wood structures, with supporting drawing libraries and customization services supporting applications in rural settings.
Standards and Durability
Since 2011, China has successively implemented national standards such as the 'Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Wood Structure Engineering' and the 'Technical Specification for Glued Laminated Timber Structures'. In 2017, the 'Technical Standard for Prefabricated Wood Structure Buildings' further standardized the design, construction, and acceptance processes. Wooden villas can withstand wind loads up to Level 8 and typically have a design service life of 50 years, meeting building code requirements and ensuring durability.
Market and Applications
Wooden prefabricated houses are not only promoted domestically but also expanded to overseas markets. Some companies combine reinforced concrete with wooden prefabrication techniques, achieving rapid deployment through modular production (such as dividing houses into standard modules, assembling them on an assembly line, and then packaging and transporting them). In the first quarter of 2023, China's prefabricated building exports grew by 45%, and export volume from Guangdong Customs surged by 38.1% year-on-year in the first four months, indicating strong international market demand. These houses are mostly used overseas for temporary housing, tourism facilities, or post-disaster reconstruction, significantly shortening the construction period and reducing transportation costs through their 'building block' assembly method.
