What is a Prefabricated Panel House?

Admin 19 de septiembre de 2026

A prefabricated panel house refers to a house constructed using prefabricated panels as the main structural materials. The following provides a detailed introduction to the definition, types, construction methods, and application scenarios of prefabricated panels:

Definition and Production of Prefabricated Panels

Prefabricated panels are cement components produced in factories. During production, wooden molds are first created based on the required shapes and dimensions. These molds determine the final form of the prefabricated panels. Next, steel bars are placed inside the molds to enhance the strength and load-bearing capacity of the panels, ensuring they remain stable when supporting the weight of the house and external forces. Finally, cement is poured into the molds and, after a certain period of curing, the cement solidifies, resulting in the formation of prefabricated panels.

Types of Prefabricated Panels

Prefabricated panels are mainly divided into two types: solid and hollow. Solid prefabricated panels have no internal cavities and feature a dense overall structure. They possess high strength and rigidity, enabling them to withstand significant loads, making them suitable for areas requiring high structural strength, such as beneath the main load-bearing walls of a house. Hollow prefabricated panels, on the other hand, have internal cavities. This design not only ensures a certain level of strength but also reduces the weight of the panels themselves, facilitating transportation and installation. Additionally, it helps save on material costs to some extent and is commonly used in areas with relatively lower load requirements, such as non-load-bearing partition walls.

Construction Methods and Application Scenarios

This construction method typically involves prefabricating components in factories and assembling them on-site. In factories, prefabricated panels can be mass-produced according to unified standards and specifications, ensuring the quality and precision of the components. After production, the panels are transported to the construction site, where they are lifted and installed in designated positions using equipment such as cranes, followed by connection and fixation. This construction approach significantly shortens the construction period, improves construction efficiency, and reduces noise and dust pollution on-site. Therefore, prefabricated panel houses are commonly used in temporary buildings, such as temporary dormitories and office spaces on construction sites; modular buildings, such as some movable houses and container-style houses; and projects requiring rapid construction, such as post-disaster reconstruction and emergency housing.
