What is a Mobile Environmental Toilet
A mobile environmental toilet is a movable and combinable public sanitation facility designed based on new materials and water-saving technologies, achieving water conservation and resource recycling through environmental protection technologies.

Technical Principles and Water-Saving Design
The core advantage of mobile environmental toilets lies in their water-saving technology. By automatically collecting hand-washing water and adding special agents, they achieve a flushing effect with only 0.46 liters of water per person, saving over 80% of water compared to traditional toilets. Internally, they are equipped with an independent urinal and toilet partitioned treatment system: the urine channel utilizes gravity flow to reduce water usage; the feces channel employs a piston-type scraper mechanical device for cleaning, avoiding direct flushing. Additionally, some models adopt waterless flushing or foam sealing technologies, further reducing water consumption through biodegradation or chemical foam coverage of feces.
Structure and Materials
The frame is welded from national standard steel, ensuring structural stability; the surface is covered with anti-corrosion and fire-resistant materials such as color-coated steel plates or carved panels, suitable for outdoor environments with a service life of over 20 years. Internally, they are equipped with non-slip floors, automatic flushing toilet bowls, and ventilation and lighting systems, complying with the GBLT18091-92 standard to ensure safety and hygiene during use.
Technical Routes and Product Forms
Since 2012, the technical routes for mobile environmental toilets have gradually improved, forming three mainstream types:
- Waterless flushing type: Relying on biodegradation or chemical treatment, requiring no water source, suitable for water-scarce areas;
- Foam sealing type: Reducing odors through foam coverage, water-saving and easy to maintain;
- Water flushing type: Incorporating water-saving devices, suitable for scenarios with water supply.
Product forms have expanded to trailer-mounted, box-type substation cabinet-style, stainless steel booth-style, etc., supporting vehicle-mounted mobility or fixed installation to meet different scenario demands.
Application Scenarios and Sub-categories
Mobile environmental toilets have covered public places such as scenic spots, service areas, rural areas, construction sites, and ships. Sub-categories include antique-style (blending with historical architectural styles), construction site temporary type (quick deployment), ship-mounted type (anti-corrosion design), etc. Additionally, they support the renovation of traditional public toilets, achieving functional upgrades through modular design and enhancing public sanitation service levels.
Development History
Mobile public toilets originated during the third public toilet revolution (from the 1990s to the end of the 20th century). With advancements in material science and environmental protection technologies, they have gradually evolved from single-function to intelligent and multi-functional, becoming an important part of modern urban and rural public sanitation systems.
