Urea Mobile Toilet

Admin 21 de septiembre de 2026

Urea mobile toilets primarily achieve efficient urine treatment and resource utilization through technologies such as microbial degradation, urine diversion and resource recycling, and energy recovery, demonstrating significant environmental friendliness and sustainability.

In terms of microbial degradation, environmentally friendly mobile toilets in Beijing use anaerobic bacteria to treat urine. Their urine treatment units convert urea into ammonia nitrogen through anaerobic bacteria and then use adsorption materials (such as zeolite) to fix ammonia nitrogen, reducing odors and pollution. Fully automated mobile toilets, on the other hand, introduce urine into biochemical reaction tanks containing specific microbial communities. Under anaerobic or aerobic conditions, microorganisms decompose organic pollutants such as urea and ammonia nitrogen into water, carbon dioxide, and a small amount of inorganic salts through metabolic activities, achieving harmless urine treatment.

Urine diversion and resource recycling are another core technology of urea mobile toilets. Environmentally friendly mobile toilets employ a "source separation" design to separate and collect urine and feces at the moment of discharge. Urine, rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, enters a more suitable degradation pathway after separation, avoiding the increased treatment difficulty caused by the generation of complex pollutants in traditional mixed treatment. Fully automated mobile toilets achieve solid-liquid separation through special filters, with urine entering the biochemical reaction tank after preliminary filtration, further optimizing the treatment process. This diversion design not only improves treatment efficiency but also provides possibilities for the resource utilization of urine, such as for agricultural fertilization or industrial raw materials.

In addition, some urea mobile toilets incorporate energy recovery designs. Their urine diversion and collection systems use microbial fuel cell technology to utilize urea in urine as fuel, converting chemical energy into electrical energy through the metabolic activities of microorganisms. This design not only reduces energy consumption but also achieves energy recovery from waste, further enhancing the environmental performance of mobile toilets.

In summary, through the comprehensive application of technologies such as microbial degradation, urine diversion and resource recycling, and energy recovery, urea mobile toilets achieve efficient urine treatment and resource utilization, providing innovative solutions for environmental protection and sustainable development.
