What Types of Mobile Toilets Are There

Admin 10 de octubre de 2026

Mobile toilets come in a variety of types, which can be classified according to different criteria as follows:

Classification by Material

  • Plastic Toilets: Primarily made of plastic, they are lightweight, low-cost, and corrosion-resistant. Their relatively simple structure makes them easy to install and dismantle, and they are widely used in temporary event venues such as outdoor music festivals and sports events. However, the strength of plastic materials is relatively low, and they may be damaged under long-term use or significant external force impact.
  • Color-Steel Toilets: These use color-coated steel sheets as the main structural material. Color-steel offers good strength and durability, with a rich variety of exterior colors to meet different environmental decoration needs. These toilets are commonly used in construction sites and urban temporary construction areas, where they can be quickly erected to effectively solve the sanitation problems of construction workers.
  • Fiberglass Toilets: Fiberglass is a composite material with advantages such as light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and good insulation properties. Fiberglass toilets have a relatively attractive appearance, a long service life, and are easy to clean and maintain. They are suitable for venues with high environmental requirements, such as tourist attractions and high-end exhibition centers.
  • Tent-Style Toilets: Mainly composed of tent fabric and supports, they offer extreme flexibility and portability. They can be quickly set up and dismantled, making them ideal for emergency rescue, field expeditions, and other temporary, highly mobile scenarios. However, tent-style toilets have relatively poor sealing and comfort, and are greatly affected by weather conditions.

Classification by Mobility Method

  • Lifting-Type: These are moved as a whole using lifting equipment. Generally larger in size and with a more stable structure, they are suitable for venues that require frequent relocation but over relatively short distances, such as some temporary markets and event venues in cities.
  • Trailer-Type: These can be connected to the back of a vehicle and towed, similar to a trailer house. Trailer-type mobile toilets have good mobility and can quickly reach different locations with the vehicle, often used in scenarios such as touring performances for large events and mobile exhibitions.

Classification by Sewage Treatment Method

  • Waterless Packing-Type: These do not require water and collect and pack feces using biodegradable plastic bags. They are suitable for water-scarce areas or venues with high water resource protection requirements, such as outdoor activities in deserts and plateaus.
  • Traditional Water-Flush Type: Similar to ordinary fixed toilets, they flush feces into sewers or septic tanks using water. They are clean and hygienic, offering a good user experience, but require connection to a water source and drainage system, making them suitable for areas with complete infrastructure.
  • Foam-Sealing Type: These use foam generated by a foaming device to seal the sewage outlet, preventing odor emission while reducing water consumption. They have significant water-saving effects and can effectively control odors, often used in public places with high environmental requirements.
  • Microbial Degradation Type: These use microorganisms to decompose and transform feces into harmless substances. Microbial degradation toilets have good environmental performance and do not require frequent cleaning, making them suitable for eco-tourism areas and remote mountainous regions.

In addition, there are special types such as vehicle-mounted toilets and trailer-type mobile restrooms, which can be selected and applied according to specific needs.
