Trailer Container Renovated House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Trailer container renovated house is a method that transforms steel containers originally used for cargo transportation into residential building units with the ability to be repeatedly assembled and disassembled through secondary design and system integration. The following provides a detailed introduction from multiple aspects:

Structural Design:

  • The traditional container has a large spacing between the longitudinal beams of the bottom frame, resulting in insufficient stiffness when used directly as a residential floor. Some companies adopt the method of adding C-shaped steel purlins between the bottom beams to evenly distribute the load to each main beam, enabling the container to maintain structural stability even when stacked three layers high.
  • To address the cold bridge effect of the metal container walls, a broken-bridge lining structure is employed. This involves filling hard polyurethane foam between the steel frame and the interior wall panels, and adding rubber thermal insulation pads at the connections of the studs, reducing the heat exchange efficiency between the interior and exterior of the container by approximately 40%.

Corrosion Protection and Insulation:

  • After shot blasting and rust removal, the container surface is coated with a zinc-rich primer and a polyurethane topcoat. This protective system enables the steel to maintain an effective service life of over 15 years in environments with northwest wind and sand and temperature variations.
  • In terms of thermal insulation, the improved treatment allows the indoor temperature to be 8 to 10 degrees Celsius higher than the outside in winter without heating, reducing reliance on heating equipment and energy consumption.

Environmental Protection and Recycling:

  • The core value of container houses lies in the full life-cycle recycling of their materials. Each standard 20-foot container consumes approximately 1.2 tons of steel. If a one-time poured concrete temporary house is used, the carbon emissions from the concrete and steel required for the same area are 2.3 times that of a container house.
  • When the campsite is relocated or the project ends, the container house can be hoisted as a whole to a new site, with a disassembly and assembly loss rate controlled within 5%. This significantly reduces construction waste compared to traditional prefabricated houses.

Practical Applications and Innovation:

  • In some renovation cases, container houses integrate a self-circulating sewage system. For wild campsites without water and electricity, a sewage collection tank and a gravity separator can be installed at the bottom of the container to treat gray water and black water separately, achieving self-sufficiency in water resources.
  • Another design enables the side of the container to be extended using an electric hydraulic system, creating a deck patio area and increasing the flexibility and comfort of living.
