Mobile TV Viewing Device for the Toilet

Admin 28 de septiembre de 2026

Installing a mobile TV in the toilet as a 'TV viewing device' is feasible, but it requires comprehensive consideration of factors such as device selection, installation plan, and experience optimization.

I. Device Selection

  1. Size Adaptation: Choose a TV with an appropriate size based on the space in the bathroom. For example, a 32-inch model (such as the Changhong 32D4PF) can meet the needs of most households, ensuring a good viewing experience while avoiding a cramped space.
  2. Cost-Effectiveness Priority: It is recommended to purchase second-hand devices released in the past one or two years. Significant cost savings can be achieved through personal seller channels (such as Xianyu). For instance, a 32-inch Changhong TV originally priced at 899 yuan was once sold for 280 yuan. However, it is necessary to test the functions on-site (such as screen display and interface compatibility) and confirm after-sales support (such as the seller's promise of a 7-day no-reason return and exchange).
  3. Waterproofing and Moisture Resistance: Ordinary TVs need to be moisture-proofed (such as by adding a waterproof cover and regularly wiping away moisture), or you can choose a dedicated bathroom waterproof TV (such as a 22-inch model priced at 2900 yuan). However, the latter is more expensive, and you need to weigh the budget against your needs.

II. Installation Plan

  1. Bracket Type: Use a floor-standing mobile bracket instead of a wall-mounted bracket to avoid tile cracking due to drilling and to support flexible position adjustment (such as moving the TV into the line of sight while taking a bath).
  2. Stability Requirements: The bracket needs to have an anti-tip design (such as a widened base and counterweights) to prevent the TV from tipping over due to a slippery floor or collision.
  3. Cable Management: Use waterproof tape to fix the power cord and HDMI cable to avoid contact with water sources. If there are no sockets in the bathroom, you need to extend the power supply through a waterproof junction box and ensure that the junction box is kept away from the shower area.

III. Experience Optimization

  1. Viewing Angle: Adjust the height of the bracket to achieve a straight-ahead viewing angle, avoiding neck fatigue caused by looking up or down. While taking a bath, you can tilt the TV 15°-30° to improve the line of sight.
  2. Function Adaptation: Ordinary TVs may have minor flaws such as a long boot-up time (such as taking 10-15 seconds to start) and the need for the remote control to be aimed at the receiver. These can be improved by pre-loading commonly used apps and using an infrared extender cable.
  3. Safety Protection: Avoid placing metal objects next to the TV (to prevent conduction) and set a timed shutdown function (such as automatic shutdown after 1 hour of continuous viewing) to reduce the risks of long-term use.
