Toilet Sink Mobility
The mobility of toilet sinks can be achieved by purchasing ready-made products or through DIY modifications. If you need to adjust the position, you also need to consider space planning solutions.

1. Purchasing Ready-Made Mobile Sinks
Ready-made mobile sinks require no complex installation and are suitable for rental housing, temporary use, or specific scenarios. Common types and their features are as follows:
- Simple Mobile Sinks: Mostly made of lightweight plastic, priced at around 263 yuan, suitable for temporary use in rental housing or kitchens, but with limited load-bearing capacity and durability.
- Stainless Steel Column Sinks: Made of stainless steel, structurally stable, priced at around 450 yuan, commonly used in hotel bathrooms or mobile toilets, with good waterproof and rust-proof properties.
- Outdoor Portable Sinks: Including double-person induction column types (around 2599 yuan) and single-person induction plastic foot-pedal types (around 1399 yuan), suitable for courtyards, factories, etc., equipped with smart induction or foot-pedal water outlet functions, but relatively large in size.
- Epidemic Prevention Special Foot-Pedal Sink Stands: Such as products from the Qingdao Chuanghui brand (around 299 yuan), with a simple design, foot-pedal water outlet to avoid cross-infection, suitable for public areas or temporary epidemic prevention points.
2. DIY Modification of Mobile Sinks
If you have a limited budget or need custom dimensions, you can achieve it through manual modification:
- Material Preparation: Select a large plastic bucket (such as a water storage bucket) or an old foot basin as the sink body, and cut out an opening for the sink; purchase universal wheels, hinges, and other accessories.
- Modification Steps:
- Drill holes at the bottom of the sink body to install a drain pipe;
- Fix the universal wheels to achieve mobility;
- If a folding or opening and closing structure is needed, hinges can be installed to connect the cover plate.
- Precautions: Ensure the stability of the sink body to avoid tipping over; the drainage design should be reasonable to prevent water accumulation and leakage.
3. Space Planning for Adjusting the Position of the Sink
If you need to move the sink out of the bathroom (such as to achieve dry-wet separation), you can refer to the following design solutions:
- Half-Wall Design: Build a half-wall about 1.2 meters high outside the bathroom, install the sink, and block the view, suitable for small apartments to save space.
- Glass Partition: Install a transparent or frosted glass partition on one side of the sink to protect privacy while ensuring lighting, suitable for bathrooms with insufficient light.
- Full-Wall Design: Build a lightweight wall to completely separate the sink area, and you can add storage cabinets or mirror cabinets, suitable for families with high privacy requirements.
- Combination of Half-Wall and Glass: Combine the blocking effect of the half-wall with the light transmission of the glass to ensure privacy while enhancing the sense of space transparency, which is an optimal solution for balancing functionality and aesthetics.
Tip: Before moving or modifying the sink, confirm whether the positions of the drain pipe and water inlet pipe match to avoid inconvenience in later use; if wall modifications are involved, consult the property management or professionals in advance to ensure structural safety.
