Mobile Toilet Deodorization and Ventilation
Admin 09 de octubre de 2026
Mobile toilet deodorization and ventilation require a comprehensive approach combining ventilation design and deodorization technology to achieve efficient odor removal and air purification through scientific design.

1. Key Points of Ventilation System Design
The ventilation system of a mobile toilet should adopt a dual-mode operation of "natural air intake + mechanical exhaust".
- Natural Air Intake: The air intake should be located at the bottom of the toilet, with an area of ≥0.05㎡. It utilizes the air density difference to create an upward airflow, promoting indoor-outdoor air exchange.
- Mechanical Exhaust: An exhaust fan should be installed on the roof, with an air volume of ≥300m³/h. It forcibly expels odors outdoors through negative pressure, ensuring 3-5 air changes per hour to maintain fresh indoor air.
- Duct Design: The exhaust duct should adopt a U-shaped elbow structure to prevent external odors from flowing back. An activated carbon filter (with an adsorption efficiency of ≥90%) should be installed at the outlet to further purify the exhaust gas and reduce environmental pollution.
2. Selection and Application of Deodorization Technologies
Mobile toilets commonly use two technologies: plant-based liquid deodorization and photocatalytic decomposition, which can be used individually or in combination.
- Plant-Based Liquid Deodorization: This technology uses natural plant extracts as the core ingredient, which are sprayed into the air through a nebulizer. Its molecules react with odor molecules such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia to form odorless substances. A single spray can last for 4-6 hours, making it suitable for short-term or low-concentration odor scenarios.
- Photocatalytic Decomposition: This technology utilizes titanium dioxide (TiO₂) to generate highly oxidizing free radicals under ultraviolet light, decomposing odor molecules into carbon dioxide and water. The deodorization efficiency of this technology exceeds 95%, and it does not require filter replacement, with a service life of over 5 years, making it suitable for long-term or high-concentration odor environments.
- Effect Standards: The combined use of these two technologies can ensure that the odor concentration inside the toilet is ≤0.5mg/m³, significantly better than the national standard (≤1.0mg/m³).
3. Special Optimizations for Outdoor Scenarios
In the context of renting mobile toilets for outdoor use, the following points require additional attention:
- Location Selection and Air Intake Direction: Avoid placing the air intake downwind of odor sources (such as garbage dumps or sewage ditches) to prevent secondary pollution.
- Equipment Power Matching: Adjust the exhaust fan power according to the toilet volume and the number of users to avoid reduced deodorization effectiveness due to insufficient air volume.
- Duct Layout Optimization: Minimize duct bends and lengths to reduce airflow resistance and ensure efficient exhaust.
- Filter System Maintenance: Regularly replace the activated carbon filter to prevent it from becoming saturated and losing effectiveness, ensuring long-term purification performance.
