Adjustment of Toilet Light Position

Admin 21 de septiembre de 2026

The adjustment of toilet light positions should be tailored to the functions of different areas, with specific solutions as follows:

1. Washbasin Area: Eliminate Facial Shadows and Optimize Lighting Uniformity

If flat panel lights are used in the original design, they can easily cause facial shadows due to direct light, affecting the washing experience. It is recommended to adjust the lighting to two 24-degree spotlights (power 7-10 watts) above the washbasin, concentrating light on the operating area through a focused effect. At the same time, supplement LED light strips (color temperature 4002K) around the mirror to provide uniform and soft background light, further eliminating shadows. The combination of spotlights and light strips creates a “point-and-plane” lighting mode that meets functional needs while enhancing spatial layering.

2. Toilet Area: Avoid Direct Strong Light and Create a Soft Atmosphere

If the light fixture is directly above the toilet, it can produce harsh glare, affecting comfort. It is recommended to move the spotlight 50 centimeters away from the wall, directing light toward the wall or floor (color temperature 2700-3000K, power 5-7 watts). This indirect lighting method reduces direct light stimulation to the eyes while creating a warm atmosphere through reflected light from the wall. If space allows, wall lights or night lights can be added beside the toilet to further enhance convenience during nighttime use.

3. Shower Area: Focus on Waterproof Performance to Ensure Safety and Practicality

Lights in the shower area need a high waterproof rating. It is recommended to move the light fixture to in front of the showerhead and install waterproof spotlights rated IPX4 or higher (power 10-12 watts) to prevent short circuits or reflections caused by water splashes. If the shower area has a niche, linear light strips can be embedded to enhance spatial depth through floating light effects. Ensure the edges of the light fixtures are tightly sealed during installation, and use waterproof sealant to fill gaps, preventing moisture damage.

Precautions: Safe Operation and Professional Support

  • Power Disconnection: Always disconnect the power before moving light fixtures and use a multimeter to confirm no electricity is present before starting work to avoid electric shock risks.
  • Wiring Modifications: If new spotlights or light strips require wiring adjustments, it is advisable to contact a professional electrician to ensure proper wiring and prevent short circuits or electrical leaks.
  • Waterproof Inspection: After moving, focus on checking the waterproof sealing of lights in the shower area, especially filling gaps at the edges with waterproof sealant to extend service life.

By adjusting light positions and parameters according to specific needs, the functionality and comfort of different toilet areas can be significantly improved while ensuring safety.
