Toilet Bowl Pipeline Movement
Admin 21 de septiembre de 2026
The toilet bowl pipeline can be moved, but appropriate methods must be selected based on the displacement distance, and operational specifications must be strictly followed.

I. Short-Distance Displacement (Within 40 cm)
Tool Selection
- Flat or round displacement devices: Suitable for short-distance displacement, requiring a slope of 1%-2% (1-2 cm drop per meter) to ensure smooth drainage.
- Minimize elbows: Excessive elbows increase the risk of blockage; it is recommended to use straight pipes as much as possible.
- Sealing treatment: The joints of the pipeline should be sealed with special sealant or waterproof tape to prevent leakage.
Operational Points
- Protect the floor slab structure: If trenching is required, avoid the floor slab reinforcement to prevent damage to the building structure.
- Waterproofing treatment: After displacement, reapply waterproof coating and conduct a 48-hour closed-water test to confirm no leakage before proceeding with the next construction step.
II. Extremely Short-Distance Displacement (Around 20 cm)
Tool Preparation
- Downpipe: Choose a pipe material that matches the diameter of the original pipeline (usually 110 mm).
- Adapter pad: Used to connect pipelines of different heights, ensuring a tight interface.
- Upper drainage 110 elbow: Adjusts the drainage direction and must match the displacement direction.
Operational Steps
- Cut the original pipeline to the appropriate length, install the adapter pad and elbow, ensuring the slope meets requirements.
- After fixing the pipeline, fill the gaps with cement or waterproof mortar to prevent displacement or loosening.
III. Limitations of Displacement Devices
- Common specifications: Toilet displacement devices typically support 5-10 cm displacement, with special designs reaching up to 15 cm, but it is not recommended to exceed 15 cm, as this can easily lead to poor drainage or blockage.
- Applicable scenarios: Only suitable for minor adjustments, such as slight deviations between the toilet position and the drainage outlet.
IV. Long-Distance Displacement (Exceeding 40 cm)
- Raise the floor: The entire floor needs to be raised by about 20 cm, and the drainage pipeline should be relaid with sufficient slope.
- Professional construction: Involves structural modifications and waterproofing treatment; it is recommended to be carried out by professional plumbers to avoid future hazards.
Precautions:
- Confirm property management approval before displacement to avoid damaging the public drainage system.
- Regularly inspect the drainage situation after construction, and promptly address any blockages or leaks that occur.
