Cost of Prefabricated Houses in Tibet

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

The overall cost of prefabricated houses in Tibet varies depending on the type, configuration, and regional differences. Single-story integrated houses cost approximately 80,000 to 120,000 yuan, while two-story high-quality houses or brick-and-concrete structures can range from 200,000 to 500,000 yuan, with overall costs being 30% to 50% higher than those in inland areas.

I. Cost of Integrated Houses

The cost of integrated houses is significantly influenced by area, number of stories, and configuration. For single-story, 30-50㎡ economical houses with basic decoration, the cost is approximately 1,200 to 1,800 yuan/㎡, totaling around 80,000 to 120,000 yuan. For two-story, 60-100㎡ standard houses with water and electricity, kitchen, and bathroom facilities, and featuring insulation and wind resistance designs, the cost is approximately 1,500 to 2,200 yuan/㎡, totaling around 350,000 to 500,000 yuan. Material upgrades will further increase costs: selecting sandwich panels with rock wool insulation increases costs by 20% to 30%; adding an underfloor heating system costs approximately 150 to 200 yuan/㎡, and adding an independent bathroom module increases costs by 15,000 to 30,000 yuan.

II. Cost of Temporary Buildings

Temporary buildings mainly include container-style, color-steel panel movable houses, and simple brick-and-concrete structures. Container-style houses with a single 20㎡ unit cost approximately 15,000 to 25,000 yuan for the basic model and 30,000 to 40,000 yuan for the high-end model (with an independent bathroom). Color-steel panel movable houses cost approximately 20,000 to 30,000 yuan for a single-story 20㎡ unit and 35,000 to 50,000 yuan for a double-story 40㎡ unit. Simple brick-and-concrete structures with a 15㎡ area and foundation cost approximately 30,000 to 60,000 yuan, suitable for long-term use scenarios.

III. Reasons for Cost Differences

The unique environment in Tibet leads to significantly higher costs compared to inland areas. In terms of transportation costs, an additional 500 to 800 yuan per ton of materials is required for remote areas, and transportation subsidies increase by 10 to 15 yuan per kilometer above an altitude of 3,000 meters. Regarding climate requirements, materials need to be thickened in cold regions (e.g., increasing the thickness of color-steel panels by 0.2mm), increasing costs by 10%. In terms of labor costs, construction efficiency is low on the plateau, with labor costs of approximately 400 to 500 yuan per day, 15% to 20% higher than those in inland areas.

IV. Additional Costs

In addition to the main cost of the house, consideration should be given to foundation construction costs (ground hardening, water, and electricity) of approximately 1,000 to 3,000 yuan per unit, approval costs (temporary building permits) of approximately 2,000 to 5,000 yuan, and maintenance costs (wind resistance reinforcement) of approximately 500 to 1,000 yuan per unit annually.

Recommendation: Based on the usage scenario (short-term/long-term), configuration requirements (insulation/wind resistance), and transportation conditions, compare supplier quotes in advance and prioritize selecting manufacturers with experience in plateau construction to balance cost and quality.
