Thickness Requirements for Prefabricated Houses

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

The thickness requirements for different components of prefabricated houses vary depending on their specific types and application scenarios, with common ranges as follows:

1. Thickness of Prefabricated Slabs Prefabricated slabs are common horizontal load-bearing components in houses, and their thickness needs to be determined based on span, load, and usage scenarios.

  • Ordinary cement prefabricated floor slabs: The thickness range is typically 60mm to 120mm. For smaller spans (such as indoor mezzanines), a thickness of 60mm-80mm can be used; for larger spans or when heavy loads need to be supported, the thickness needs to be increased to 100mm-120mm.
  • Standardized prefabricated slabs: Common thicknesses are 120mm or 150mm, with lengths mostly ranging from 3000mm to 4200mm and widths primarily at 400mm and 500mm. These slabs are mostly used for floors and roofs in industrial buildings or large public facilities.

2. Thickness of Prefabricated Wall Panels Prefabricated wall panels are the main enclosure structures of houses, and their thickness needs to balance thermal insulation, sound insulation, and structural stability.

  • Lightweight partition walls: The thickness is usually 75mm or 90mm, suitable for indoor non-load-bearing partitions, such as separating bedrooms from living rooms. These wall panels are lightweight and easy to install but have weaker sound insulation and thermal insulation performance.
  • Load-bearing or exterior wall panels: The thickness is mostly 100mm to 120mm. 120mm wall panels are commonly found in heavy industrial buildings or scenarios requiring high-strength support; in civil buildings, 120mm wall panels are also widely used for exterior walls to enhance wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the wall panel thickness of some prefabricated houses in rural areas of Henan is approximately 120mm (i.e., 12 centimeters).

3. Thickness of Other Prefabricated Components

  • Steel-framed lightweight prefabricated slabs: The thickness range is 80mm to 150mm, combining the strength of steel with the advantages of lightweight materials, suitable for buildings sensitive to self-weight, such as large-span factories or temporary buildings.
  • Steel bar truss prefabricated floor slabs: The thickness range is wide, from 100mm to 300mm. These slabs enhance load-bearing capacity through built-in steel bar trusses and are commonly used in high-rise buildings or floor structures requiring large spans.

Summary: The thickness design of prefabricated houses needs to comprehensively consider functional requirements, structural safety, and cost-effectiveness. In practical applications, appropriate thicknesses should be selected based on specific component types (such as floor slabs, wall panels) and usage scenarios (such as civil, industrial), and relevant building codes should be followed to ensure quality.
