Suizhou Prefabricated Structural Housing
Suizhou prefabricated structural housing mainly includes two forms: prefabricated concrete houses and prefabricated residential buildings, characterized by fast construction speed, controllable quality, and environmental protection and energy efficiency, but also facing challenges such as limited personalized design and cost control.

Prefabricated Concrete Houses
Prefabricated concrete houses are constructed by prefabricating components such as walls and floor slabs in factories and then assembling them on-site, significantly shortening the construction period. Traditional buildings take several months to a year, while prefabricated concrete houses can be completed in just a few weeks, making them particularly suitable for emergency housing or rapid construction needs. Their quality control is strict, with components undergoing precise design and inspection in factories to ensure compliance with strength and durability standards, reducing on-site construction errors. Environmental protection is prominent, as concrete materials can be recycled, factory production reduces natural resource consumption, and centralized waste control reduces pollution. In Suizhou, prefabricated concrete houses are widely used, covering residential, commercial, public facilities, and rural housing improvements, becoming a preferred option for farmers' housing upgrades. However, their design needs to consider transportation and assembly convenience, which may limit personalized needs, and they need to compete with traditional buildings in the market, requiring attention to cost control to enhance competitiveness.
Prefabricated Residential Buildings
The first prefabricated residential project in Suizhou City, the Ziyunfu Community, uses components such as prefabricated composite floor slabs, stairs, and ALC wall panels produced by Hubei Zhengye Company. It boasts significant carbon reduction advantages throughout its life cycle, optimizing energy consumption to save 20.5% electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 8%, with a 5.5% reduction in comprehensive energy equivalent value and an 8% reduction in equivalent value, aligning with green building trends. Prefabricated residential buildings feature the characteristics of "five savings and one environmental protection": water saving, energy saving, material saving, time saving, and land saving. For example, prefabricated components reduce on-site wet operations, lowering water consumption; modular design improves land utilization. Additionally, factory production reduces dust and noise pollution, improving the construction environment. The practice of the Ziyunfu project demonstrates that prefabricated buildings have exemplary significance in promoting energy conservation, emission reduction, and enhancing building industrialization levels.
Comparison and Challenges
Both types of prefabricated structural housing improve efficiency and quality through industrial production, but prefabricated concrete houses focus more on rapid construction and cost control, while prefabricated residential buildings emphasize environmental protection and resource conservation throughout their life cycle. In the future, Suizhou needs to further optimize design flexibility to meet diverse needs, while reducing component costs through large-scale production to promote the popularization and application of prefabricated structural housing.
