Usage Standards for Mobile Toilets in Squares

Admin 06 de octubre de 2026

The usage standards for mobile toilets in squares cover aspects such as site selection, capacity, supporting facilities, cleaning, user behavior norms, and management in special scenarios. Details are as follows:

I. Site Selection and Placement Mobile toilets should be located at least 5 meters away from water sources and food processing areas to prevent sewage pollution or facility dampness. They should be kept 3-5 meters away from crowded areas to reduce the impact of odor diffusion on activity zones. The ground should be level and solid. If the foundation is soft, gravel or wooden planks should be laid to prevent the facilities from tilting or being damaged.

II. Capacity Planning

  1. Toilet Cubicle Area: The standard usable area for a single toilet cubicle is 1.5 to 2 square meters, which should accommodate an adult sit-down or squat toilet and allow for turning space.
  2. Scale Classification: Small public toilets have 3-5 cubicles and can theoretically serve 3-5 people simultaneously at maximum; medium-sized ones have 6-10 cubicles and serve 6-10 people; large ones have more than 10 cubicles and can serve more than 10 people. During peak hours, the turnover rate of toilet cubicles is calculated at 8-12 people per hour. A public toilet with 10 cubicles can serve 80-120 people per hour during peak times.
  3. Configuration Ratio: It is recommended to estimate the total number of toilet cubicles based on one cubicle per 150-200 people. The ratio of men's to women's cubicles should preferably be 1:2 or 1:3 to accommodate the longer time women typically spend in the toilet.

III. Supporting Facilities

  1. Basic Configuration: Ventilation systems (such as exhaust fans), lighting, and hand-washing basins are essential facilities that directly affect the user experience and hygiene conditions.
  2. Barrier-Free Design: Barrier-free toilets should be located close to the main toilets, with an area of not less than 4 square meters. Inside, there should be a wheelchair turning space with a diameter of not less than 1.5 meters, equipped with a barrier-free sit-down toilet, hand-washing basin, multi-functional table, low-level clothes hook, and emergency call device. The door should be a horizontally sliding type or an outward-opening flat door.

IV. Daily Cleaning and Maintenance The toilets should be cleaned at least once a day, with neutral detergents used to wipe the inner and outer surfaces. The flushing system should be regularly checked for normal operation. Dedicated trash bins should be provided, and it is strictly prohibited to dump garbage into the toilets. If any facility is found to be damaged, the rental company should be contacted immediately for repair to prevent sewage overflow. The facilities should be locked at night to prevent unauthorized entry.

V. User Behavior Norms

  1. It is forbidden to throw debris or forcibly dismantle parts. Children should be accompanied by adults when using the toilets to avoid touching the flushing buttons or power devices.
  2. Women's menstrual waste should be sealed in dedicated garbage bags and not thrown into the toilet pipes. If the facilities are blocked, management personnel should be notified immediately, and self-unclogging should be avoided.

VI. Management in Special Scenarios In hot weather (above 35°C), the cleaning frequency should be increased, and sunshades can be placed inside the facilities. In rainy or snowy weather, anti-slip measures should be taken, and snow or water on the top should be cleared in a timely manner. During large-scale events, it is advisable to arrange for dedicated personnel to be on duty, and temporary toilets can be added during peak hours to meet the demand.
