Specifications and Dimensions of Public Mobile Toilets

Admin 29 de septiembre de 2026

The specifications and dimensions of public mobile toilets vary depending on their type and functional requirements, and can be categorized as follows:

1. Single-Occupancy Mobile Toilets
The external dimensions typically range from 1.1 to 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 to 2.5 meters in height. Among them, the external length of common single-pit toilets is mostly between 1.2 and 1.5 meters, with a width of 1.0 to 1.2 meters and a minimum height of 2.2 meters. These toilets are suitable for scenarios with limited space or low foot traffic, such as temporary events and remote areas of scenic spots.

2. Multi-Occupancy Mobile Toilets

  • Two-Pit Units: These can reach lengths of 2.4 to 3.0 meters while maintaining a width of 1.0 to 1.2 meters, suitable for medium-foot-traffic scenarios.
  • Large Container-Type: These exceed 6 meters in length and 2.5 meters in width, and can be equipped with multiple male and female toilet stalls, accessible toilets, and management rooms inside. They are suitable for high-foot-traffic areas such as large events and transportation hubs.
  • Special Double-Occupancy Specifications: Some designs are 6.8 meters long, possibly integrating more functions or optimizing space layout.

3. Accessible Toilet Stalls
The internal clear width must be ≥1.5 meters, and the clear depth ≥1.8 meters, to accommodate wheelchair rotation and the use of assistive devices. These stalls must be equipped with handrails, low-positioned sinks, and other facilities in compliance with accessible design standards.

4. Dimensions of Internal Functional Areas

  • Toilet Area: The clear width should not be less than 0.85 meters, with an ideal range of 0.9 to 1.0 meters; the clear depth should be guaranteed to be 1.2 to 1.5 meters to ensure comfort. The door width should be no less than 0.6 meters for easy passage.
  • Partitioned Toilets:
    • Outward-Opening Doors: The dimensions for sit-down toilet stalls are 0.9 meters (width) × 1.3 meters (depth), and for squat toilets, 0.9 meters × 1.2 meters.
    • Inward-Opening Doors: Sit-down toilet stalls require 0.9 meters × 1.5 meters, and squat toilets, 0.9 meters × 1.4 meters, to avoid the door occupying internal space when opened.

Design Considerations: The dimensions of mobile toilets must comprehensively consider usage scenarios, foot traffic, functional requirements, and transportation convenience. For example, toilets in scenic spots may prioritize compactness, while those in transportation hubs need to balance capacity with accessible facilities. When selecting a model, it is recommended to refer to industry standards (such as the 'Urban Public Toilet Design Standard') based on specific needs and allow for some adjustment space.
