Space Requirements for Mobile Toilets

Admin 22 de septiembre de 2026

The space required for mobile toilets varies depending on the type and usage scenario, with common internal size ranges as follows:

Single-Person Standard Type The internal space typically measures 1.2 - 1.5 meters in length, 0.8 - 1.0 meters in width, and 2.2 - 2.4 meters in height. This type of toilet is suitable for single-user scenarios, such as temporary events or construction sites, offering compact space that meets basic needs. The external dimensions may vary slightly due to structural optimization, but the overall footprint remains small.

Double-Person Standard Type The internal space expands to 1.8 - 2.2 meters in length, 1.0 - 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 - 2.4 meters in height. This design accommodates two users simultaneously, making it suitable for scenarios with slightly higher foot traffic, such as small exhibitions or community events. The external dimensions usually match the internal space, with some allowance for passage space.

Barrier-Free Type To meet the needs of special populations, barrier-free toilets have larger internal spaces, measuring 2.0 - 2.4 meters in length, 1.2 - 1.5 meters in width, and 2.2 - 2.4 meters in height. Their design must comply with barrier-free standards, such as a door width of no less than 0.9 meters and an internal turning space diameter of no less than 1.5 meters, with external space reserved for wheelchair maneuvering.

Luxury Type Luxury toilets for high-end scenarios can have internal spaces up to 2.5 - 3.0 meters in length, 1.5 - 2.0 meters in width, and 2.4 - 2.6 meters in height. These toilets may be equipped with independent sinks, mirrors, and even air conditioning, with external dimensions considering the space occupied by additional facilities, suitable for long-term, fixed use in high-standard venues.

Public Mobile Toilets The external dimensions of a single-pit public toilet typically range from 1.2 - 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 - 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 - 2.5 meters in height; for a two-pit unit, the length extends to 2.4 - 3.0 meters, with the width remaining at 1.0 - 1.2 meters. Larger container-type mobile public toilets can exceed 6 meters in length and 2.5 meters in width, such as a combined toilet with four squatting positions and a handwashing area measuring 6 meters in length, requiring adjustments to the space layout based on actual functional modules.

Selection Advice The space planning for mobile toilets should comprehensively consider the number of users, functional requirements, and site constraints. Single- or double-person types are suitable for temporary, small-scale scenarios; barrier-free types must strictly adhere to design specifications; public toilets should be flexibly configured based on foot traffic and functional modules to ensure a balance between usage efficiency and comfort.
