Songjiang Creative Container House

There are multiple container houses and related architectural projects with creative features in Songjiang.

Shanghai Container Building Complex: Located at the construction site on Rongle East Road in Songjiang District, Shanghai, it was designed and built by Shanghai Jiku Architectural Modular Co., Ltd. and completed in March 2015. This building complex is constructed using 30 discarded ocean shipping containers, covering an area of approximately 900 square meters. It is divided into two floors and includes functional areas such as offices, capsule hotels, restaurant bars, leisure terraces, and a swimming pool (existing facilities on the original site). The interior decoration follows the standards of a five-star hotel, with a construction cost of about 4000 yuan per square meter (including decoration). As a conceptual model house created by a commercial company, this building complex adopts a modular design to form a 'box-style shop' model, with a short construction period and reduced waste generation. However, due to the lack of national standards for using containers to construct buildings, its construction process is suspected of violating relevant regulations.

Jiuli Gongfang Cultural and Creative Park: Located at No. 218 Huting North Road, Jiuliting Subdistrict, Songjiang District, Shanghai, it covers a total area of approximately 90,000 square meters. Originally a logistics and warehousing base, it has been transformed into a cultural and creative industrial park that integrates nostalgia and fashion, vintage and industrial elements. Inside the park, container modules are cleverly combined with the original factory buildings, forming a unique architectural style. It has attracted numerous enterprises to settle in, including architectural design companies, as well as various commercial facilities such as coffee shops and music bars, making it a popular check-in spot for tourism in Songjiang.

Container Party House in Yunjian Grain Depot: There is a standalone party house in Yunjian Grain Depot that has been transformed from a container. It covers an area of 450 square meters and is divided into two floors, with an outdoor courtyard and an open-air balcony near the river. The house is equipped with entertainment rooms, rest rooms, a dining room, and other facilities, meeting various needs such as birthday parties, gatherings of friends, and company team-building activities.

'Wangtian Bookstore' in Yaojing Village: During the comprehensive environmental improvement of 'five violations and four musts' in Yaojing Village, Songjiang District, a container was transformed into a two-story space serving as a cultural exchange venue for villagers. Named 'Wangtian Bookstore', it is placed beside the grain fields and has a unique rural cultural atmosphere.
