Small Container House Design Cases

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Here are some introductions to small container house design cases:

15㎡ 'Mini Villa' Deep in the Forest: This case demonstrates the efficient use of containers in small-space renovations. Although the living room is only 15㎡, it achieves a multifunctional integration of reading, leisure, and dining through a foldable design. The kitchen adopts a linear layout to maximize space utilization and is equipped with ample storage. The bedroom features an integrated design where the bed can be folded; when half-folded, it becomes a sofa, and a foldable table is installed on the left side to meet various living needs. The interior of the container door is decorated with wood veneer and includes shelves. The bedhead features symmetrical open storage, paired with black special materials and a fireplace, adding warmth and practicality. The bathroom has rounded edges and a door that completely hides when closed, making it both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Office Building Designed by Distill Studio: This case consists of 32 containers, including 12 offices and a cantilevered conference room. The building not only focuses on high-performance thermal insulation and energy-efficient climate control but also boasts a colorful and lively appearance, breaking the monotony of traditional office buildings and showcasing the innovative application of container architecture in the office sector.

'Periscope Project' by ENS_projects in the United States: Located in San Diego, California, this project provides a mixed-use cooperative for young creatives. Five intermodal containers are arranged linearly and in parallel, defining outdoor courtyards and second-floor platforms. The exposed areas serve as auxiliary activity spaces, integrating indoor and outdoor environments, promoting the penetration of natural light and ventilation, and reflecting the flexibility of container architecture in spatial layout.

Shanghai Rong•Gubei Post Station, Qingdao TEU Container Tribe, and Shanghai Wisdom Bay Science and Innovation Park: These cases demonstrate the widespread application of container architecture in public services, commercial complexes, and creative parks. They not only provide convenient and efficient service spaces but also integrate various business formats, creating vibrant community environments and showcasing the advantages of container architecture in functional diversity and spatial adaptability.
