The Wujiang District of Shaoguan has implemented the "Smart Toilet" construction initiative and built and put into use a high-standard "smart toilet" at the Mengzhouba Night Market. This toilet not only adds multiple men's rooms, women's rooms, third-gender restrooms, and management rooms to meet the needs of different groups of people but is also equipped with facilities such as sensor-based flushing, lighting, and professional septic tanks. The sensor-based flushing system can automatically flush according to usage, avoiding water waste; the sensor-based lighting system automatically turns on when someone enters and turns off when they leave, providing convenience and energy savings. The design of the professional septic tank effectively improves the toilet's sewage treatment capacity and reduces environmental pollution.

Constructing and Renovating Tourist Toilets

Shaoguan has achieved remarkable results in constructing and renovating tourist toilets. Xinfeng County has explored the establishment of a "Tourist Toilet Open Alliance" to coordinate the opening of eligible tourist toilets across the county to citizens and tourists, improving the utilization rate of tourist toilets. The Danxia Mountain Management Committee has actively mobilized the enthusiasm of business entities and built multiple intelligent toilets. These toilets can update information on toilet usage, humidity, and temperature in real-time, allowing users to understand the internal environment of the toilet in advance. At the same time, they are equipped with sensor-based voice control technology to achieve resource conservation and humanized services, such as controlling the on/off switches of lights and exhaust fans through voice commands.

Scientific Planning and Layout

Shaoguan City has linked the construction of tourist toilets with all-for-one tourism and transportation networks for scientific site selection and layout. It reasonably plans the locations of toilets in densely populated areas such as tourist attractions and transportation hubs to facilitate the use of citizens and tourists. At the same time, it has increased investment and focused on "building well" to ensure the construction quality of toilets.
