Shanghai Mobile Toilet Support Services

Admin 02 de octubre de 2026

Shanghai has built an efficient and user-friendly service system for mobile toilet support services through multi-dimensional measures such as facility upgrades, convenience services, technological empowerment, and rental service guarantees.

I. Facility Upgrades and Renovations
Shanghai is advancing hardware optimization for mobile toilets from the city-wide to the regional level. At the city level, starting from 2026, a new version of public toilet standards will be implemented, extending the 2:1 ratio of female to male toilet stalls to areas with high pedestrian traffic. Innovative models such as 'universal toilet stalls' and 'tidal toilet stalls' have been introduced. Additionally, 2,631 sanitation public toilets have undergone renovations to be age-friendly and child-friendly, with over 1,200 third toilets constructed. Jing'an District has taken the lead in achieving full coverage of age-friendly and child-friendly renovations for all sanitation public toilets (including mobile toilets) across the district. For example, the mobile toilet on Laochengdu North Road near Huqing Road has replaced squat toilets with sit-down toilets and added handrails and child seats. In Pudong New Area, seven mobile toilets feature soft color tones, barrier-free access, real-time electronic displays of toilet stall availability, and 'age-friendly and child-friendly toilet stalls' equipped with assistive handrails and child-specific facilities. Some of these toilets also include 'sanitation worker stations' providing rest, shower, and charging services for sanitation workers.

II. Convenience Service Initiatives
Convenience service boxes in supervised sanitation public toilets across the city are equipped with emergency supplies such as sanitary pads and disposable underwear. Over 2,600 public toilets provide free toilet paper, and more than 2,000 offer hot water handwashing services in winter. Pilot programs have been launched to provide toilet paper inside toilet stalls and set up rest areas. Pudong New Area has added 'sanitation worker stations' at the mobile toilet intersection of Century Avenue and Weifang Road to address the rest needs of sanitation workers on the street, with plans to expand coverage.

III. Technological Empowerment and Open Sharing
Shanghai has built a number of smart public toilets and optimized the 'Shanghai Smart Toilet Finder' mini-program, integrating sanitation public toilets with social toilet resources to enable online-offline integrated toilet finding. By promoting the open sharing of social toilets, a complementary service system has been established, enhancing the efficiency of toilet resource utilization.

IV. Rental Service Guarantees
The outdoor mobile toilet rental market in Shanghai is thriving in 2026, with strict requirements for the comprehensive capabilities of service providers. Leading companies such as Xuhu offer customized rental solutions and efficient maintenance services, with in-house developed management systems. Jieyitong specializes in eco-friendly mobile toilets, excelling in rapid installation and disassembly, and dominates the mid-to-high-end market. Kuaijiele stands out with its 24-hour emergency rental and regular maintenance services, meeting urgent needs.
